Better bet it is the heater core locatecd under the dash on the passenger side., Replacing it is the only way to stop the leak. It is a big job, about 5+ hours for a experienced tech and you will need to discharge and recharge the AC system. Hope this helps.

Your definitley on the right track,it maybe the actual heater as most heater hoses end at the firewall so the leak must be on the inside of the firewall. If you cant spot the leak from the engine bay side you may have to remove the dash, hope this helps.

Passanger floorboard is wet

Is it water or is it radiator fluid. Radiator fluid will have a sweet smell. If it is water it is probably because the windshield isn't sealed properly and is leaking. If it is radiator fluid then you have a cracked heater core. You can see the result of this by turning on the front defrost and instead of clearing the windsheild it will fog it up. Try pulling the carpet back on the passenger side and put a light dusting of flour on the floor. This should help you locate where the leak is coming from.

WET CARPET ON DRIVER'S SIDE

Could be the drain for the ac is plugged up. Usually when this happens the passenger side floor gets wet, but it could be coming out on the driver's side when you take a right turn.
The drain should be on the bottom of the firewall near the floor, you should see water dripping onto the ground when the ac is on.

My 1995 ford explorer has 281765 miles on it it runs great but it just started leaking water from somewhere the floor on the passenger side is wet and i cant find the problem

If it's green or has a sweet smell, it's anti-freeze. This is a heater hose connection or most likely the heater core itself. Check your fluid level, if it's low you have a leak. If these aren't the problem, then you have a seal leak (body) somewhere.

Cant stop a 201venture van from over heating the heater works the van dont run hot but wen the heater dont heat the motor runs hot

When your not feeling heat coming from the heater it usually means that the coolant level is too low in the radiator. It sounds like you have a coolant leak somewhere which is causing your overheating problem. Fill your radiator and let the engine run for about a half hour with the radiator cap on tight. Then turn off the engine and check for any leaks under the van. If you don't see any leaks under the van then see if the carpeting is wet on the passenger side of the vehicle. If the carpet is wet and it smells like anti-freeze you have a heater core that is leaking. I hope this helps you. :)

What would cause wet carpet and water on the passenger side floor

there is a leak because the foam has disintegrated, or the seal has broken open down by where the feet of the passenger is. Rust stains tell me that the leak may be caused by a break in the body somewhere.

Try spraying expanding foam in the area between the plastic and the metal parts to try to seal out moisture from coming into the passenger compartment.

I can smell coolant when heater is on and coolant light is on

Sounds like the heater core is leaking. Fill up the coolant and look under the carpet on the passenger side and see if there is not coolant there. IF it is a really minor leak you may be able to use a radiator fix, but do not buy something cheap and follow the directions. If one application does not seal it up, replace the heater core. It is not worth overheating the motor to try more of the sealer; it can clog the coolant passageways in the motor.

Hope this helps

My 1996 jeep grand cherokee smell anifreez incar here water going back and worth but se no leak but have to re fill water once a weak.cant find leak under dash . but here water go back and forth wile...

the water sound i believe is from being low in antifreeze..if you are adding water oncce a week then there is a leak.. try looking on the inside of the car on the passenger side carpet to see if its wet..if not, then check things under the hood such as, heater hoses for heater core, water pump, thermostat housing, radiator, core plugs, block heater..if the smell is coming from the inside and there is a film on the window, then chances are you need a heater core....try that.

Water leaking into 2005 Camry 6 cyl under carpet drivers side.

I think that I can help you. It sounds like your drain-tube is plugged up. Get in the passenger side, and pull the carpet back from under the glove box. Look for a black rubber pipe that goes from a black box, and pokes thru the firewall, on the passenger side. Remove the hose from the box, and have a container ready to catch water. If water comes out of the black box, your drain hose is plugged up. Clean out the clog, and you will be golden.
