Check engine light and cruise lights came on simultaneously.

Computer said it was the 02 sensor. Replaced both 02 sensors with Bosch universal replacement sensors. The problem still exists. Both check engine light (on solid) and cruise control light (flashing) are still on after clearing the computer.

What codes were present to think the O2 sensors were bad.

overheated then replaced an old hose that popped a leak. this hose is small and travels a few inches just under throttle sensor and ajacent to a few vacuum hoses that are also short and slighter larger in diameter. after replacing this burst coolant line, driving home immediately after the repair(roadside) shifting was hard(jolting) and acceleration lagged a few times when i arrived back home AT oil warning light was flashing CHECK ENGINE had been on the entire trip after repair. i did afew things at home change the thermostat and flush coolant. the ATF looked alright pink/red but maybe is a little thinner and lighter color than my vague memory suggests. can coolant have contaminated my ATF? how can i identify is the contamination exists? how does this contimination occur?

Sound like the O2's heater circuit may not be working, that will set a code. I am not a big fan of univeral O2's, too many problems with bad connections and the check engine lights coming back on. You may need to use a OEM type sensor to keep the light off.

Code p0038 wont go away and i have replaced the 02 sensors twice on my 2006 kia sportage

Code 038 means the computer is getting a high voltage return in the heater circuit from the O2 sensor mounted after the catalytic converter. The O2 sensors have an internal heater to make them work as soon as you start the engine.
You would need to test the circuit to and from the sensor to find the real problem.

P2a00 code

you have a 02 sensor on the exhaust under the car that usually goes shortly after the other and viseser verser. Go to the auto parts and ask if your vehicle is OBD 2 compliant. if so buy an OBD 2 and plug it into your socket usually under the drivers side between you knees. then press read. it wil tell you what codes and the results and you also have the option to erase the codes and turn out your check engine soon light. Replacing a sensor will turn off the light but it can take weeks for the computer to reset itself that`s why the machanic uses the OBD 2 to check to see what sensors are tripped and reset them. Try the reset before buying another sensor. this should work.

98 subaru impreza air bag light is on after replacing 02 sensors

the codes need to be erased from the computer's memory, the air bag system is separate from the engine electronics.

The engine light stays on, it has an 02 sensor. It may need a new cadillac converter and cv joint.

check engine light on when tested it says bad o2 sensor did you replace 02 sensor it takes driveing it so many miles before light will go off give it couple days you dont need cadillac converter check engine light will go off cv joint they click as you turn dont let a mechanic sell you something you dont need its very rare for cadillac converters to go bad its common for o2 sensors to go bad like yours did but when 02 sensors are replaced it takes driveing it for awhile before it resets itself you also have more then one 02 sensor was then wrong one replaced they screw into your exaust manifold

Escort has engine light on, diagnostics say 02 sensor is out, both were replaced, same code for 02 sensor bad shows up, replaced again, same code shows up

MOST OF THE TIME AN 02 CODE DOES NOT MEAN REPLACE 02 SENSOR..SOME AUTO PARTS STORES WILL SCAN YOUR CAR..TELL YOU CODE 02 SO PEOPLE AUTOMATICALLY REPLACE SENSORS...IF YOU CLEAR THE CODES DOES THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT COME BACK ON RIGHT AWAY OR DOES IT TAKE A LITTLE TIME... IF IT TAKES A LITTLE TIME THEN YOU HAVE SOME PROBLEMS THAT ARE CAUSING THE EMMISSIONS TO BE OUT OF RANGE.. IF THE LIGHT COMES BACK ON RIGHT AWAY YOU HAVE A PROBLEM IN WIRING HARNESS BETWEEN THE SENSOR AND ECM....MAIN COMPUTER.....OR SECONDLY POSSIBLE PROB IN THE MAIN COMPUTER...GET SOME OF THOSE ANSWERS AND FIND THE EXACT CODE THAT RETURNS THEN GET BACK WITH ME FOR MORE HELP

ABS Light Lit, Engine Light Lit - Cruise Control Not operating

sounds like to me its a abs sensor or reluctor ring problem the 2 main culprits are the front abs sensor link leads one maybe open circuit or the rear driveshaft reluctor is corroded and broken you need to get the fault codes out to help decide which i would check the reluctor rings first if you look carefully at the rings with a torch and probe with a small screwdriver between the rear driveshaft joint and the hub carrier you may find the reluctor ring is adrift

I ran a Diagnostic on my 1998 chevy venture mini van and here are the codes that came up, P0102, P0134. What does this mean? I have already replaced the following, fuel pressure regulator, both crankshaft...

the 2 codes are

P0134 02 Sensor Circuit no activity Detected (bank 1 sensor 1)
first check your fuses check the wiring to the sensor(the sensor is on the exhaust in front of the engine-open the hood and look down) if the fuses and the wiring look good replace the O2 sensor there are 2 types of sensors original equipment(oe) style and universal the oe style has a connector you just plug in, the universal you have to hard wire in

the 2nd code is Mass Air Flow (MAF) Circuit Low Input
check the wireing, make shure theres a good connections
you said that you already replaced this sensor so im going to recomend that you go after the other code first

deal with the oxygen sensor then reset the computer and see what codes come back
