Where is the fuse for the wipers? Owners manual states it is in the fuse box on a breaker but I cannot find it. Wipers quit working after a snow storm - no activity at all when I activate the switch. The manual also mentions a relay box under the hood. I don't want to take this to the dealer and come away with a $200 repair bill for a blown fuse.

The relay is dirt cheap at the store (8-12 dollars), the relay is easy to find. on top of the engine area back near the firewall is a small to medium sized black box with a snap up lid...there are relays just sitting inside of it, you want the one with 3 prongs going across the bottom and 2 prongs going front to back on the bottom. it's a big square piece that just pulls out. the wiper fuse is kinda a pain to get to busy easy to replace... it's a really big silver metal cased fuse on your fusebox closest to the floor... be careful because if the wiper fuse is bad, it may be hot as hell to touch so take care when grabbing it. any auto store will have one. if neither of these fixes work then you need to check the motor wheel that connects to the wiper arm rods under the vents where the washer lines run down from the arms... sometimes the pins that connect the arms to the wheel snap off which make the wipers stop. worst case is the motor itself went bad. hope this helps
I couldn't find the box near the firewall you were talking about. I also went to Carquest and a Jeep dealer (not to have them fix it just show me where the wiper fuse is) and all of them pull up a diagram of a fuse box or panel that I don't have. There is no C1 fuse or circuit breaker. I pulled the two wiper relays and switched them around with no luck, i put them back in the way they were and was about to give up and go look online more, and they started working. Maybe I should replace those relays just for the hell of it? My main concern is, why is there no diagram of the either fuse box, and why are all the ones that show up online and at the jeep dealer, not look anything like mine.

Thank you very much - I found the relay you are referring to but have not replaced it. I have a diagram of the fuse panel underneath the drivers side dash - but can't get to the wiper fuse - it appears to be up further underneath the dash - do I have to take the lower dash panel off to get to the wiper fuse? If so, how do i get just the part of the lower dash off that let's me get to the fuse? Thanks a lot for your help. - Garold
Here is the fuse panel from my 2002 Grand Cherokee - as you can see the wiper fuse is up at the top of the panel - which goes up underneath the dash underhang to the left of the steering column - I can't reach it from underneath - do I have to take the lower dash panel off. Thanks for your help.

The wipers on my 2002 Grand Cherokee stopped working today also. There is no diagram in the manual, it just says that C1 is for the wipers. I couldn't find C1. I had a the guy from Carquest auto parts pull up this exact picture of it and I told him, that is what I looked up and neither box looks like that. He even came out to look. Looks nothing like this. I brought it to a Jeep dealer and just asked them if they could show me which fuse was for the wipers and they again, pulled up this same diagram. Long story shorter, I pulled both relays (wiper on/off and wiper hi/lo) and switched them around, still nothing. I put them back the way they were and for whatever reason the wipers are working.
I could not find a little box with extra relays in them near the firewall like the Lady Chaos said in the 1 answer. I looked for that too and didn't see anything like that.
I'd sure love a diagram of the actual fuse panels that I do have! I'm not new at changing fuses but this was just crazy.
