How to unhook a alarm stytem in my 2005 chevy malibu if it keeps killing my battery

Hey! I pulled out my manual and there is no fuse specified for the alarm. Whoever put the alarm in will have to tell you what fuse is used for it. If you purchased it from the dealer with one, then they should be able to tell you. If all else fails, I found a link to the pdf file of the owner's manual. If you click this, it should take you right to the actual file for you to download.

i think it stands for traction control. most cars with that say ETC which stands for electronic traction control. if you have a manual for the car it should say what it is.

SOURCE: 2005 Chevy Malibu Maxx cd changer error

You will need to have the radio reset or checked out at the dealer.Ther could be a cd stuck in it.Or the radio/CD player may have be on when the battery power got to low.

You can probably pull the horn relay to kill the horn while you are working on the problem.
With the battery connected to a jumper, try locking and unlocking the driver's door with the key. If that works, make sure the battery gets charged before you unhook the jumper cables to keep the computer memory alive.

all you should haft to do is unhook the battery I usually unhook it for about 30 seconds that should erase all the codes the only other way I know of is to erase them with a code reader.
