SOURCE: low beam headlights not working on 2004 Pontiac Montana extended

You headlight lamp have a diffuser mechanism which allows it to flip between the hight beam and low beam feature of the bulb. In fact, you high beam will function even if the low beam is not working.

I would recommend the purchase of the new headlight lamp. It would cost you you any where from $15.00 per unit to get a replacement lamp

SOURCE: front headlights

theres two bolts on top of the lighting housing that you have to remove first. in the back corner of the housing there is a ball and joint that you have to slip out this will remove the housing from the car. on the back of the housing there is three circlular disks that u can twist off which will expose the bulb. repeat these steps in reverse to reinstall.

SOURCE: 2001 pontiac montana headlights do not shine very

There could be two reasons for the headlights to not shine too well.
1. The bad reflectors (unlikely as Pontiac could not have given you reflectors that could go bad in 8 yrs as they are sealed).
2. Low voltage/amperes in the light circuit (very likely as there could be a faulty/insecure connection). As time passes, the joints and connections can get rusted and thus produce an impedance in the circuit. And thus cause the brightness to reduce.
You must check for 2 above from the lights to the battery, including the switches en-route, and wherever you have doubts you must cur and peal then tighten the screws. It would most likely be at the bulb end as that is exposed to the vagaries of weather.

Hello Terry.

HEADLIGHT AIMING

CAUTION: Turn off the light before adjusting headlight aiming. If the light is necessary to check aiming, do not turn on for more than two minutes .
NOTE:
Before checking the headlight aiming, be sure of the following:
  • The area around the headlight has not sustained any accident, damage or other type of deformation.
  • Vehicle is parked on level ground.
  • The inflation pressure of tires is correct.
  • Vehicle's gas tank is fully charged.
  • Bounce the vehicle several times to normalize the suspension.
  • Make certain that someone is seated in the driver's seat.

How do you make adjustments to a 99 bonneville headlights. Repairs were done to the front end and the headlights don't shine on the road now.

The adjustment screws/nuts should be located either on the top of the headlamp assembly, behind the headlamp assembly, or near the frame rail by the radiator support.

You will have vertical adjustment screws for each independent beam (separate highs and separate lows, but will be same screw if highs and lows are the same bulb). You may also have additional horizontal adjustment screws as well

Park your car on a level ground 30 feet from a wall and measure the height from the ground to the bulb and mark on a wall (do this for highs beams and low beams if the bulbs are separate, if highs and lows are the same bulb, only do it for the lows)

For Low Beams: If the headlights read VOR, then aim the brightest part or cutoff part just below the mark on the wall. If it says VOL or nothing, aim them 2 inches below the mark on the wall.

For High Beams (if separate from low beams): Aim the headlight directly at the line you marked on the wall.

How do i adjust the headlight beam on my Subaru Forester X MY06 Model

on each headlamp assembly, there will be either one or two plastic nuts that you can turn.

If you only have one nut on each, that will adjust the vertical aim of the headlights.

If you have two nuts on each, one will adjust the vertical and the other will adjust the horizontal.

Park your car on a level ground 30 feet from a wall and measure the height from the ground to the bulb and mark on a wall (do this for highs beams and low beams if the bulbs are separate, if highs and lows are the same bulb, only do it for the lows)

If the headlights read VOR, then aim the brightest part or cutoff part just below the mark on the wall. If it says VOL or nothing, aim them 2 inches below the mark on the wall.
