OD light on 97 Jeep comes on when it's cold outside

I have a 97 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited. The OD light comes on when it's cold outside and won't shift correctly until it goes off. Sometimes I can make it go off if I drive it some, then shut it off and restart it but not all the time. Sometimes I have to drive it 6 or 7 miles and it will shift itself.

Calvin...... You need to treat your Jeep to a new THERMOSTAT. The Overdrive is connected to the engine coolant temperature and if the engine is n ot warmed up properly, the Overdrive will not engage. Try to get a thermostat from the Jeep dealer so you will have exactly the right one, some of the cheapoie ones will not work right. Dave in Iowa

My 1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited has a new battery but won't start. When I try to jump start it, it just makes a clicking sound but won't start.

Most likely you have a bad connection somewhere. Trace the battery cables and clean/tighten all terminals or try jumping to a different lug. You might also try removing the starter and jumping directly to the starter to verify that it is good.

Battery drain

Check to determine actual volts in battery charge if necessary. Remove & clean battery posts and inside of terminals. Check engine ends of battery wires as well making sure they are clean and tight.
