1995 Ford Taurus NEW Fan motor keeps running

I just helped change the Fan motor on the car and now it just constantly runs.
We changed the motor because the diagnostic said was not spinning. Car would run fine, but once you sit car temp starts to rise.

Changed Parts Already: Fan motor, water pump, thermostat

Please help if possible

1994 Ford Taurus GL 3.0L will not start. Cooling fan and fuel on constantly with key In "on" position. Has new relay control module. Check engine light does not come on when key is on.

I have always heard that a constantly running fuel pump and cooling fan is an indicator that your ecu is going bad, horrible words to hear i know but definitely do some research on this and if it is the problem luckily there are decent finds in scrap yards to be had for little money. hope this helps and sorry about the bad luck :(

I have a 1995 nissan altima.I changed the motor on it twice .The third motor I got from a 2000 altima ,same motor different year. Anyhow when running the motor,if I plug in the fan switch the fans will not...

You have quite a situation. It sounds as though the Coolant Temperature Sensor is faulty. That sensor will control the temp gauge in the dash as well as control the cooling fans when necessary. As to why the fans are constantly running whether the switch is on or not would mean that there is power to the fans bypassing switch, possibly from another connection in the harness. First off I would try replacing the fan relay, it may be stuck closed, just switch it out with another of the same type connection from the fuse box to see if there is any change. If that doesn't work then I would check to see if the wiring from the coolant temp sensor and the fan switch run through the same area of the harness. Its possible that you may have a short circuit at that point. That may possibly explain why the gauge is reading hot when the motor in fact is not. Hope this helps. Good Luck.

I changed the thermostat and temp sensor and now the car runs hot and the fan will not kick on. even if i over ride it with defrost!!

I think yu have air trapped in the system. You need to burp the air. Try leaving the cap loose and running till it warms up, then tighten the cap and keep the reservoir full.

1995 Ford Taurus not starting. Sometimes it starts and sometimes the starter won't turn over not even a click. Wait half an hour and it may work fine. Starter less than a year old as is the battery

Even though new-ish, I'd still suspect the battery has no charge, ask a friend to give you a jump start. Then give your car a good run, 20 miles, if is doesn't work again the next day either the battery fails to keep its charge or the alternater isn't charging it. A good garage will be able to test either for you, you'll need to change the failing part.

How to change thermostat in ford tarus

First when the engine is cool, you should drain the coolant from the radiator, being careful not to spill any, also keep pets away from anitfreeze as it is toxic to animals. then remove the thermostat cover, clean the mating surface, before replacing the thermostat. thake note of how the old thermostat is mounted and put the new one in the same direction. then reseal the housing, replace the fluid and run for a while. check the fluid level every few days and replace as necessay as your system works the air out.

Blower motor only runs on high speed

The lower speeds are created by running the current from the switch through resistor pack located in the air box so that it keeps cool. Follow the wires back from the fan motor to find the resistor pack. If you want to test it, you would need an ohmmeter. But it should not be expensive or hard to change.
