Dashboard light not workin on my 99 olds intrigue

My Dashboard lights aren't working, so I can't see the speedometer. The radio lights work, but my steering wheel control lights aren't working either. I've checked the fuses in the car and all seem to be fine. Is this a short or like a bulb out?

The dimmer switch is still controlling the brightness of the light on the radio. Still could be the switch? How can I tell or do I just need to replace it?

It could be the dimmer switch.

You might have to check to see if the bulbs in the instrument cluster arent all burned out...this is very common on older cars

99 malibu inop radio fix

Stock radios have 2 fuses that run them.

Fuse 1 is usually labeled as Radio in the fuse box.

The 2nd fuse shares circuits with other devices that are powered straight off of the battery, so look and see if your dome light works, and your cigarette lighter. If either of those aren't working, check the fuse for that item. Cigarette lighters are usually listed as Cigar in the fuse box, and dome light is usually CTSY or Courtesy.

99 olds Intrigue factory CD player problem

I am not sure about repairing the unit. Do you have a CD cleaner?
You might check with a reputable auto electronics shop, one that specializes in car audio. They may have an adapter that will allow an aftermarket radio to be controlled from the steering wheel. Rosen makes a nice am/fm/cd/dvd navigation unit that also has XM and iPod inputs. The hard part will be to find supporting interfaces and wiring harnesses to fit a 99.
