SOURCE: where is the fuel filter located, ona 99 jeep grand cherokee?

Hello,

There are 2 filters.

  1. One is on the end of the pickup tube inside of the gas tank.
  2. The second is in-line, above the front edge of the gas tank, inboard of the frame member. It is part of the fuel regulator/filter assembly.

Here's a diagram:

Take care.

Where is the diesel filter located in the 2009 jeep patriot

I think with the patriot it can depend on exactly which model and engine it is. I have described where the most likely places are but I think yours might be Option 1.
It will be in one of three locations. This involves getting under the vehicle **so be careful**.
1. A metal canister with all the pipes going into the top, bolted to the firewall, (Bulkhead), next to the brake servo.
2. A metal canister with the pipes at each end bolted to chassis rail near the fuel tank. These are sometimes tucked into the inside edge of the rail for protection so look across to the far side of the Jeep when looking under the vehicle.
3. A metal canister attached to the side of the fuel tank itself. A similar canister to option 2.

I took the air duct off that connects to the air filer box it seems to give me more air and more horse pover i have 2010 jeep patriot 2.4

It probably IS generating a little bit more horsepower, or if your filter is really dirty, significantly more power. However, you risk your engine sucking in random junk, such as dirt, bugs, small rocks, or other random stuff off the road. So, you are trading off a tiny bit more power against the odds of this happening.
