Starts and cuts off,, Starts up runs 2 or 3 sec. and cuts off I changed the battery and now it will not stay running.

Check engine light was on. No issues until a slight drag in the acceleration but went away. Then drove last night and it made a loud roaring noise with squealing noise (almost like a belt). Then the car shut off. I cranked it back up and the battery light was on. But, I had no issues cranking. I begin to drive but it would not let me go over 20mph without doing it again. Please help!

Sounds like it's your alternator, your alternator charges your battery and runs car once it is started. if you have a bad alternator your battery light will come on, and shortly after your vehicle will die, unable to restart without a jump. I would take your battery to autozone or an auto shop to have your battery and alternator tested.

How do u reset the start engine codes on a BMW 1998/528 series

You have to have a scan tool. If you have tried that and codes come up as soon as you clear them, then their is a greater issue. Check the starter relay, disconnect it and clear codes and see if problem persists.

My 1998 bmw 740i is idling up then down several times before cutting off and it hesitates before cutting off when I try and drive it

Possibly MAF - (Mass airflow sensor). Check and clean sensor and connection clamps. Google it for location on your engine/vehicle model. Test: with the engine running, spray carb cleaner around it lightly. if engine smoothes out, then you located your problem. You can find them on ebay.

1998 Honda Accord Won't Start

Park neutral safety switch maybe be the reason for the no crank ! Try putting the vehicle in park ,then try to crank the engine . Testing the electrical circuit is the best way to trouble shoot this problem , along with do a voltage drop test on the starter circuit ! This will test the battery cables an connections .
Starter Voltage Drop
How to voltage drop test starter motor circuit
Does it have a manual or automatic transmission ? Manual ? clutch switch . Looking at a wiring diagram I also see a starter cut relay !
http://www.bbbind.com/free_tsb.html Free wiring diagrams . Enter vehicle info. year , make , model and engine size . Under system click engine , under subsystem click starting . Then click the search button , then click the blue link ! Check the starter cut relay also . Videos on youtube showing how to test a relay controlled circuit !

Mini van wont start battary charged new altanator and starter all wires are grounded

Do you mean it won't start, or won't crank.
You should have a neutral safety switch between the key switch and the starter to prevent you from cranking the engine in drive or reverse.
A defective switch would keep the engine from cranking.
A mechanic would check for voltage at the starter on the wire from the key switch and go from there.

1994 BMW 740i with 222,000 turns over but won't start. Removed battery, had it tested and it's good; radio, lights, windows all working fine. Driving the car on Friday, went to start it on...

Hi.

If it does turn over and electrical works, then the problem is unlikely the battery. You can try jump starting. If it cranks when jump-starting it may be a weak battery, starter motor or alternator, but I don't think that this is the problem.

Check if there is spark on all cylinders. Do a code scanning (this car is OBD1, you will need to do the scan at the dealer place or to find a BMW OBD1 tool- Universal OBD2 scanner will not work on a 1994 BMW). If the codes return misfire or mixture related errors check fuel pressure, check sensors and parts that determine the mixture (MAF/MAP, AIT, O2 sensors, IAC and EGR system), check the vacuum system for leaks and check the crank sensor.

Regards.

I have a 2006 bmw 525i, the check engine light came on for a missfire in cylinder 6. I replaced the plugs and the coil and it is running great but the light still wont go off. I have a scanner and reset...

Many newer cars computers have to see anywhere from 50-250 good trips without the original problem showing up. This doesn't mean crank, cut off, crank, cut off... It has to actually be driven through a drive cycle. Otherwise, you'll need a scan tool capable of erasing the codes, the cheaper ones may not do the trick.
