Mercedes e320 transmission is in safty mode why

I have replaced the tcu and the car and the car is still in safety mode would low fluid be the reason

    Trans goes into safety mode after long periods of driving. If I stop and turn the car off for 5 min it resets itself. Shakes my confidence in MB

I have purchased a 86 Mrecedes Benz 300E with just over a 100000 miles. Recently the tranmission has had problems. The tranny began to shift erracticly, and now only in 1st and reverse gears. On occasion it will shift through all the gears. But stopping at a light brings this progress back to 1st or reverse gears. I know the tranny has a comptuter and a TCU. But I lost. Help

The car goes in safty mode if there is an issue with the tranmission. even it there is low fluid levels, it has to be reset with a diagnostic machine prefebilly MB star

Did you have the radio or CD on when you were doing all this work? Low battery voltage can cause it along with other reasons.

mercedes did nothing wrong your transmission is probably blown up. no way they could put in the wrong parts they wouldn't fit. how many miles are on your trans now? did you ever do a transmission service on the transmission that mercedes says is lifetime fluid? dont do back to the dealer find an independant shop that specializes in mercedes, like the one i work for. the dealer doesnt care about its clients. Us independants honestly do care
