How do I remove the washer reservoir on my 2006 audi a4 w/2.0L

I already have a "New" reservoir to replace the current one which leaks-out all of the washer fluid which is placed in it. It shows that it only has two fasteners, both of which are readily visible with the hood open. I remove those fasteners, and the old reservoir still does not come out. Any advice is well-appreciated" Thanks

SOURCE: Power Steering Fluid Leak, boiling fluid.

Look at the steering rack on the side of the car that you think the leak is, look for the steering rack boot or gaiter, it looks like a black circular accordian type thing.
If this is bulging and leaking fluid the seal in the end of the rack is gone, this is one of the most common faults of leaking fluid and at the rate you are losing fluid, the leak is on the pressurised side of the system after the pump (the seal at the end of the rack)

SOURCE: replace fuel pump audi a4 quattro 1996

The locking ring for the fuel pump can be released and reinstalled using two large combination spanners (wrenches) with the open end against the locking ring tabs and the spanners held in against each other to form and 'X'. Push/pull on the ends to remove or install the locking ring.

UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES USE A CHISEL OR HAMMER TO REMOVE THE RING AS THERE IS RISK OF EXPLOSION!

Be sure to perform this operation in a well ventilated area with all windows down and the battery negative cable disconnected.

SOURCE: I have an 2004 Audi

there is a very fine mesh filter on top, so you have to add fluid very slowly to let it flow through the filter screen. Do not remove the filter screen, as any contaminants could cause $$$ damage.

I just finished replacing mine.

It is much easier if you do these steps:

1. Remove the serpentine belt.
2. Remove the nuts holding the main fuse box over the battery.
3. Remove the reinforcing bar over the battery.
4. Remove the battery.
5. Remove the windsheild washer tank.
6. Now you have access to remove the pump pulley. Without removing the stuff, it may be possible, but it will be extremely difficult.

9. Remove the return line clamp.
10. Remove the power steering pump mounting bolts.

16. Install reservoir on new pump.
17. Install clips to hold reservoir on pump.
18. Install new o-ring on high pressure fitting.
19. Place new pump in position while sliding on low pressure hose.
20. Loosely attache high pressure fitting.
21. Tighten pump to mounts.

Winscreen washer failure

Before you change the pump make sure it is not something as simple as a fuse replacement. I was told that if the wipers still function then the system fuse (usually a 30A fuse) was not blown.

Here is step by step to get at washer pump

1. Remove drivers side front wheel 2. Remove inside fender wheel well covering (about six to eight screws) 3. Upon removing cover you will note to left of wheel the plastic washer reservoir. Located behind this reservoir are the pumps. 4. Unscrew reservoir bolts and pull reservoir loose from grommet at top of fill container. Also at this time you can now disconnect the water level sensor plug that plugs in to the left side of the reservoir 5. Pull reservoir out and you can now locate pumps. If the pumps are bad, this is an easy fix of disconnecting the electrical connects, disconnecting the water lines and pulling th pump out of the reservoir fitting. 6. Replace new motors and reassemble in reverse order.

Washer reservoir access

noI you have to remove the front grill to get to the washer reservoir Nissans are a pain for the location of their washer fluid positions. you have to remove the blinker lights and remove the grill by turning the sloted plastic counter clockwise 1/4 of a turn then pull the grill away from the plastic piece once all 5 have been twisted and are not holding the grill you can lft the grill out and get to the bottle, if you can see the leakand can patch it with 5 minute epoxy withour removing it that would work too.
