2003 passat 1.8T gls power dirver seat

I took my 2003 passat into the dealer where I purchased the car, NEW,in 2003, for the heated seat recall from VW. My driver seat actually did burn through some padding(so I was told). One week later when I picked-up my car, the driver seat was replaced with a manual seat. When I called and told the dealership about the problem, they told I never had a power driver seat! And that VW never even had power driver seats optional for that make/model passat ! ??? WHAT..I've owned this car 5 years! I know it had a power driver seat! Bad news is I Do have the original window sticker, but it does not list it.I've contacted VW who informed me that although the car left the factory w/out a power seat, doesn't mean that at sometime before I purchased it, one wasn't installed. Aauugh! Does anyone out there have or knows of another 2003 passat 1.8 T 4cyl GLS that has a factory installed power seat? Or did I have a mental stroke!

Seeing you have a GLS edition... most of them have at least a power DRIVERS seat. I own a 2003 GLX v6 and it comes with both front seats powered and heated. i hope this helps!

Dirver side power seat not working?

I've got a 2005 Passat GLX (bought it new); took it in for an oil change, and the mechanic also cleaned my cabin filter. I leave his shop and I realize I don't have power seats no more on the driver's side (passenger side fine)....neither backward/forward or up and down, (separate motors, I believe)....Coincidence????? I don't know-never had any problems before. The car has 65,000 original miles.

The guy checked the fuses on the dashboard driver side, near door....seemed alright. They were closing so he told me to come back Monday....I'm thinking of taking it back to dealer (I lost trust in this guy).

Any thoughts on what could have gone wrong???

My 2006 Hyundai Sonata GLS driver side power seat will go reclime back but will not come back up. It's hard to drive with the seat like that. Is there a recall on it? The sunviser keep falling down as...

Recalls are something you ask a service manager
at a dealership. Recalls ,unless the Govt gets involved,
are dealer only issues & seldom anything coming
your way when the warrantee runs out

Both issues will have to be checked out & repaired
as necessary at your expense

I recently had an engine light on my 2003 Volkswagen Passat W8 and the dealer replaced the thermostat and less than 2 months later, the engine light is back on. I don't trust this dealership as my car...

U don't mention what this light is for Id say its the for the over flow tank so make sure its topped up to the full mark or otherwise its overheating..Once again U don't mention what country you're in if your here in Australia you will probably need a cooler thermostat. A very common problem with imported cars if U know a good handyman he could drill a small hole on the side of the thermostat about the size of a match head will be sufficient!!!!!

Buick Lesabre Heated Seats not working

The problem is most likely caused by shorted heating grids in the seat cushion itself, kind of like the heating element in an electric blanket, very expensive to replace.

1996 VW Passat GLS transmission shift problem

Like to make sure that your post says your car is a 1996 with only 38800 miles.
There were many recalls for your vehicle back then which may be the cause of your hard shifting. Are you the original owner ? If so, have you done any scheduled maintenance to it from the day you purchased it ?
