First check for any cracked pipes leading into the intake manifold If all OK (with no codes showing it probably is OK) try checking the fuel pressure regulator. If you smell fuel from the pressure regulator vacuum side arm (when the vacuum line has been disconnected) it needs to be replaced.

Experiencing a "ticking" "knocking" type noise when 1st starting the car in colder weather that goes away once the blazer warms up , any help ?? I was told it could be the exhaust manifold , or piston...

it may need a lifter or valve adjustment when cold they will tick or knock depending on how loose or worn out then when it warms up they swell with heast and noise stops. after adjusting or replacing it will stop making noise

I have a 1999 Chevy s10 zr2 pickup, when i start it it makes a ticking noise in the engine after it warms up it stops

This is a common complaint. What it is is the a lifter making noise because it has lost its prime (oil that is supposed to stay in the lifter to keep it lubricated). To make the noise stop try using some Lucas Oil Treatment or oil stabilizer. You can pick this up at your local Advance, Napa Auto, or Auto Zone parts dealer.

Hope my advice is helpful and you get your S10 in tip top shape.
