SOURCE: trying to remove glove box

  • If your seat will not go forward or back we want to test the switch first as this is the most common offender.
  1. Remove the negative battery cable first and set it aside so it does not ground.
  2. now as you look at the picture I uploaded you just want gently pry up the switch responsible for the seat movement.

  • This is the picture of the different results of a continuity test. Get your mulitmeter and put it on Ohms and see how the switch tests.

  • Once you have ran a test on the switch you will know if it is the switch or not. If it is the switch then replace it.
  • If not then you need to get a DRB scan tool and test the to test the PCI data bus network. If you have never used a DRB scanner I recommend having a technician do this. Not only that but they are very expensive to buy.

  • Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa.

SOURCE: 97 Jeep Grand Cherokee lights won't work high

Use a test light, or a ohmmeter and check the wires at the wire plug under the dash that go to the multi-function switch thru the steering column cover, you should have continuity between #18 and #19 low beam terminals, if not the switch is bad and will need replaced. it shows how to check this in Haynes 1993 to 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee repair manual #50025 page 12-6. To replace the switch in the column cover, remove the negative battery cable, wait 2 minutes to disarm the air bag system, leave cable disconnected, before removing the column cover.

SOURCE: 1995 grand jeep cherokee won't take freon why

You do know the compressor must be running to allow the system to be charged, right ?
If the system is low you have to jumper the low pressure switch or otherwise provide power to the compressor to put new cans of freon in.
And it will only go in on the low side of the system, which should be the only side you can connect the hose to.

Transmission

Check your rear emergency brakes. A brake shoe pin could have broke and the shoe locks up in 1 direction. but not the other. The other problem you mentioned could happen, but if it is in reverse the trans shifted.
