2006 GMC Envoy, approx 60,000 km. I have a whirring noise that increases with acceleration. Makes it sound like an electric vehicle. Noise is present even when parked and idling. Performance still seems fine. Anyone have an idea?
Mine did the same. It was a bad idler pulley
Mine doing this now... It's the pulley under the alternator. I don't know if it's the water pump or not.
I removed the belt to find out. I'm certain of where it's coming from. It's a common problen I've heard on many Envoys and Trailblazers. Still researching now...
Fan belt pulley bearings?
engine fan?
power steering fluid low?
starter motor engaged?
water pump?
It can be a stuck starter gear wheel. the starter engages but then it will not pull back.Is running with the flywheel.
