2000 audi a4 2.8 quattro/ oil lamp light on center of dash

Ive recently been getting some bad vibes from my audi 2.8 quattro ;(. I was driving and suddenly hear strange beeping then also i notice an oil lamp on the center screen saying check oil level. I exit the vehicle and check the oil and oil level is fine. Also i smelt burning plastic and there was a small amount of smoke coming deep from the right side of the engine. Im worried about driving it again, any ideas on what this problem is?

Have the oil pressure checked as soon as you can... also have them check the wiring for the oil sending unit

need to check the ignition control unit under the dash. its right behind the dash. if you have had a water leak it is the first part to go. when you turn the key you should hear it click. sends power to the dash.lights gauges etc.

I have a audi a4 1.8 turbo the dash panel is flashing oil

it may be bad, i would replace that and see if the light comes back on,its easy to change ive done a few, just drain the oil then remove bolts and remove, install new gasket with new one, theres a way to bypass to test, i belive if you just unplug it or jump the wires, you can try both ways first before replacing it,if it has more than two wires going to it then dont try jumping it, just replace it, good luck.

2000 Audi A4 quattro with abrupt gear shifting & low oil pressure

I hope that you had the proper weight oil installed, at your oil change. If your oil is up to the proper level, and it's rattling ,this is VERY bad. White smoke usually means steam in the exhaust, and that means a blown head gasket. Check your coolant level. I wouldn't drive it anymore......until someone knowledgeable can diagnose it!!!!!

Sounds like a bad ignition switch. It has terminal 50 (starter activation) but no terminal 15 (ignition on) activation.

I have a 03 Audi A6 Quattro with the ESP & ABS light on

It's probably your brake check switch going bad, it's under the driver's side dash above the brake pedal. I had the same problem and eventually my cruise control and brake lights stopped working when it failed completely. This is also a redesigned part that you can get from the dealer for about $8, which to me indicates they new the part caused problems and failed to notify owners. Try that before Audit tries telling you wires are faulty.
