Two months ago I went through the car wash and my ebrake and battery lights started flashing intermittently heater blower losses strength when I accelerate and the headlights dim. Started idling crappy at a light a week and a half ago and completely died. Got it jumped drove a few miles parked and shut it off and couldn't get it restarted but it had power. Towed it to a shop they said my security system was engaged and they couldn't do anything. Towed it to the dealer they said it was my engine control module and they replaced it $1000 later. Picked it up yesterday and it died on my drive home. The battery and ebrake lights were flashing and my airbag light went on the heater blower was losing power and the entire dash was dim. The car made a real bad knocking sound then completely lost power. Had it jumped and it will run but I'm scared to drive it. I've spent almost $1300 to fix it and have gotten nowhere. I have replaced the alternator battery egr valve and starter all in the past 7 months.

It sounds like you have a bad ground. follow all your ground wires. should be one to the engine, body, and maybe frame. disconnect them and clean the surfaces with sand paper and reconnect

Thank you for the insight. I just don't know if I can trust the dealer to actually find that as they have clearly been unsuccessful in diagnosing it initially. I've also been told it could be a bad relay?

SOURCE: electrical short

Your problem is pointing to the alternator. Since you say the alternator is only a year old, the I would check the tension on the belt (deflection should be about 1/2 an inch), and the belt itself. Your problem most likely lies in either the belt, belt tensioner (if applicable), or alternator.

SOURCE: Electrical system failure. Replaced alternator,

Sounds like a short in the system. If you can put a charger on the system, I recommend you pull the fuses one at a time and look for a spark when reinserting them. There are only a couple circuits that should spark when the key is off. After narrowing it down that way, you can start checking the wires and components on those circuits that sparked. You can also do this with the fusebox in the engine compartment.

Starting problem (see details), on 1998 Town & Country.

Check your battery cables and starter cables especially the connectors and bolts under the hood. The bolts and connections could be loose or corroded. Check the connections near the battery and on the battery since many times mechanics mess with these the most. My guess is something is loose if it starts well most times, but fails occasionally. Did you look for blinky codes or DTCs? A '47' (or P0562) could mean a bad battery or alternator, and a '12' (or P1684) could indicate intermittent connections. Do the dome lights dim or stay well lit when the clicking is heard during cranking? If so, then the issue is most likely near the battery and if not then the issue is more likely near the starter. Good luck. There are a lot of wires under the hood.

I have a 2004 deville my battery run down over night

IF THEY CHECKED FOR A DRAW ON THE BATTERY AND THERE WAS NONE DID THEY CHECK ALTERNATOR OUTPUT? IF IT WAS IN SPECS THEN YOU MOST LIKELY HAVE A BAD BATTERY. YOU MAY WANT TO HAVE IT CHECKED AGAIN. THE DEALER IS NOT ABOVE MAKING MISTAKES

My a/c blower intermittently stops working in all settings. It has a new blower which was installed one month ago. Vent, recirculate and a/c lights will come on when pushed and the compressor will run but...

The blower might be at fault, bump the blower motor, sometimes they will start working if the blower motor is bad,but not always, make sure it is getting voltage to the blower motor,if it is,replace the blower motor. If this was at all helpful, please rate, thank you.

Power gone and heater light flashing (2.0D)

Sounds like your EGR valve has failed,They usually become gunged up and stick open or shut which will give you a loss of power. The valve is not the easiest thing to change but also not the hardest,The dealer will have to clear the trouble code from your car though....hope this helps
