Where is the fuel filter in Jaguar xk8 2005.

Could very well be the fuel filter, try replacing it, aslo check for a cramped fuel line, if the problem persists, check the fuel pump

Is the check engine light displayed? If it is, that's where you start, by retrieving the fault code(s). If not, then you could have a security system fault, fuel system breakdown, etc. All codes, regardless of the systems affected, will cause the vehicle computer to immediately default to a failsafe mode, till the problem has been fixed, and this drastically affects driveability, causing no-start issues, idle problems, etc.

check the fuses and relays. fuel pump or ecm fuse may be blown

ENGINE STAALING OUT WHILE DRIVING COULD BE STOPPED UP FUEL FILTER, FAULTY FUEL PUMP,CODE SCAN FOR FAULTY IDLE AIR CONTROL VALVE,FAULTY MASS AIR FLOW SENSOR,VACUUM LEAK CAUSED BY PCV OR EGR SOLENOID STUCK OPEN.IF ENGINE STALLS OUT AFTER HARD DRIVING CHECK TO MAKE SURE ENGINE NOT OVER HEATING.

try tune up (plugs n wires, fuel filter etc) if u dont have check engine light on, if u do find out wat the code is

RESET THE COMPUTER, IT WORKED ON MY XJ. SAME PROBLEM I HAD.

There is a tech bulliten for ecu reprogramme that Jaguar use regarding the hesitation. Black smoke is normally due to a clogged up egr valve. Can be cleaned out easily

Could be more than one thing , and it is hard to guess with out a diagnose report , but try to check the following : 1- Spark plugs 2- Fuel filter 3- Coils 4- Air filter 5- Throttle

Change your air filter if it hasn't been changed recently. Spark plugs, plug wires and fuel filter can also make a difference.
