Sunroof wont open

My boyfriends sunroof wont open up all the way, when we hit the button to open it budges a slight bit then starts making an awful clicking noise until you let go. you can then push on it a little to get it to go up properly. then when you try closing it it will go down but when you let go it continues to make that awful clicking noise till you hit the down button a couple times then it will stop. how do fix it so it will go up and down without any issues??

SOURCE: Chevy Tahoe Sunroof is stuck open moves slightly forward and back

It sounds like it just needs to be reinitialized. Turn your key to the on position with motor off and hold the up/full vent button down for at least 30 seconds or until your sunroof either clicks or goes to the full vent position. That should fix your problem.

SOURCE: Latch of trunk won't open.. lots of clicking noise.

Had the same exact trouble. Changed the relay #36. Check the owners manual pages that show where all of the fuses/relays are. The fuse box for this relay is in the trunk area so I had to crawl in cuz the trunk wouldn't open. Good uck...hope this helps

I can't open the sunroof on my 2000 hyundai sonata. When I push the ope or close buttons it makes a loud noise like something is jammed but it doesn't budge. What can be the problem?

Without actually inspecting it, I recommend you take it to an authorized Hyundai Service Department and have it properly diagnosed -- impossible to tell here.

Sunroof

Open the shade cover to access the sunroof from inside the car. On each side of the sunroof (driver and passenger) there is a black accordian looking cosmetic molding, toward the back side of the sunroof (rear of the car) stick your finger behind it at the top and pull you will now be able to see a T25 (torx) screw you will need to slightly loosen it on each side of the car if they are not already loose then push up on the center rear of the sunroof. you may want to have someone outside of the car to tell you the proper height, when you have the proper hight set tighten the screws then replace the molding. You are done, no more noise!
