Yes. Look in the Fuse Panel inside the Truck. Use a Good Maglight or LED Flashlight and Hold it Behind the Fuses to see the Blown Ones. It is usually in an AUX Outlet. Also check thr Fuse Relay Box under the Hood for a Blown Fuse using the Same Method. See if there is a Relay for this also. If so, Replace it. Let me know if you need any more Help! • Anonymous Feb 02, 2009

Did you Locate the Relay for these in the Box Under the Hood? If Not then you may have a Bad Mirror.

  • Anonymous Feb 03, 2009

Sounds like you may need to try and Locate a New or Used Mirror. I have one from my 95' Silverado But, Does not have Temp. Just Compass and Auto Dimm.

There's actually an on/off button for the temp/compass display on the mirror. It is the button located on the left front of the mirror itself. Push this and the display should turn on. gmc Yukon , Denali, and Tahoe.

It had been years since the compass/temp displayed in the rear view mirror of my 2003 chevy Silverado 2500 hd. it was confirmed I had power to the mirror. I sent my mirror off "to be fixed" and plugged it in at soon as I got it back. I set the zone, made sure the mirror showed CAL in the upper right of mirror, performed the driving circles, read and re-read the manual and nothing. For the life of me, I am unable to calibrate my mirror. the mirror displays the generic numbers, etc. CAL displays, along with a Z on the top and generic numbers for the temp. Any ideas??

The airbag light stays on and the temperature and compass display on the rearview mirror won't work.

2003 Chevy Silverado
our rearview mirror has gone off and the airbag light stays on.
i've determined that this is a fuse, the SIR fuse under the hood, but what I can't figure out is why it's blowing.
It's either something to do with when we hook up the lights to the trailer or it might be from where we installed a new car stereo.
I took it to the Chevy dealer for some other things and told them there was a fuse blown to the rearview mirror and to the airbag and just asked them to replace the fuse while it was in the shop.
on top of the $700 i was already spending, they charged me $98 to diagnose that it was a blown fuse and like $11 to change it, even though I already told them it was the airbag fuse. Highway robbery. And they wonder why we don't like 'em.

How does my rearview mirror on my 2003 GMC Yukon know the outside temperture?

Its very smart. Smarter than the weather man.
There is a sensor. Usually located around the grille area.

The compass and temperature display on the rearview mirror of my 2003 gmc yukon blinks on and off like there is a loose wire. I'm trying to figure out which wire is loose or if there is another fix I can...

This may be a loose connection or a bad mirror which contains the display, follow the wir to mirror, you will see where it plugs into the mirror, remove the connector and check the connector for a loose wire to connect and then plug it back in and see it that makes a diffrence if not then i would say to replace the mirror.the wiring to mirror comes out from under the roof liner and if there was no repairs done ib that area then the wiring will be okay, it very uncommon for a wiring problem in that part of the wiring unless you had work done in that area, for example a windsheild replacement. hope this is helpful, good luck.

Call a GM dealer for the number as these have changed since then. A good qualified Tech with a hi-end scanner should be able to find the problem.

2003 Yukon XL outside temperature display has stopped working. (on rear view mirror). Is there a fuse that has blown??

There probably is a fuse, and your owners manual should say it. If not that does not work, there may be a faulty thermometer, and the book will also list part #s, and more helpful, where it's at.

The interior rear view mirror has temperature and compass displays, but only work for a short time at start- up.I have tried unplugging the harness on the back of the mirror and cleaning contacts. It`s...

Temperature Display
The inside rearview mirror supplies a 5 volt signal circuit and low reference circuit to the ambient air temperature sensor. The inside rearview mirror monitors and records the voltage on the signal circuit of the ambient air temperature sensor. The inside rearview mirror uses this recorded voltage to display the temperature on the temperature display portion of the compass/temperature display. The temperature display will show "ICE" when the ignition is first turned on and the current temperature is 3°C (37°F) or below. The display will toggle between "ICE" and the actual outside temperature for approximately 4 minutes.
The mirror will display "OC" if the mirror senses a temperature of less than -40°C (-40°F).
the mirror will display a "SC" if the mirror senses a temperature of greater than 112°C (143°F).

Replace the inside rearview mirror with compass. Refer to Inside Rearview Mirror Replacement .

I have 2002 Yukpn Denali XL. There is a OC code that appears in the rear view. What is the cause of this and how can I fix it?

The "OC" indicates your compass is "Out of Calibration". Below is the proceedure to recalibrate your compass.

Compass Calibration
The compass may need calibration if:
After five seconds, the display does not show a
compass heading (N for North, for example), there
may be a strong magnetic field interfering with the
compass. Such interference may be caused by a
magnetic antenna mount, magnetic note pad holder
or a similar magnetic item.
The compass does not display the correct heading
and the compass zone variance is set correctly.
In order to calibrate, the letters CAL must be displayed
in the mirror compass windows. If CAL is not
displayed, push in the COMP button for approximately
eight seconds or until the letters CAL are displayed.
The compass can be calibrated in one of two ways:
Drive the vehicle in circles at 5 mph (8 km/h) or less
until the display reads a direction, or
drive the vehicle on your everyday routine and after
several turns the compass will become calibrated and
will display a direction.

Good luck.
