SOURCE: battery not holding charge.

try testing the battery terminals with a tester check the voltage with the DC 50V range(red to the positive black to the negative body ground). at engine shut the bat should read 12V. start the engine it should read 13 to 13.5v. If it checks that way it should be charging. Same happened to my civic. until I added a grounding lead wire to the negative post of the battery to a good grounding spot to the car engine. It solved my problem. Somehow honda's this series has no good grounding or the original wires are short of conductance.

SOURCE: Car won't stay running.

alternator does not hold a charge it simply charges the battery by unhooking the battery you are taking all voltage from computer and car will not run the proper way to test your alternator is use a multimeter and check voltage at battery while car is running if you have 13-14 volts it should be fine.

SOURCE: new battery and alternator. Battery still won't hold charge

Check all your fuses if you had a system failure it could have blown a fuse. I am not sure on your vehicle where the fuse is in the car or under the hood it could also have a relay. You can check your alternator by checking the voltage at the back of the alternator where the big wire bolts on. You should have 14+ volts at the alternator.

SOURCE: battery wont hold charge

HI. you may have a battery drain issue that is sapping your battery overnight.

Here is the procedure I use to isolate a battery drain. Remove negative battery cable from the battery. Using a 12-volt test light, hook one end to the negative battery post the other end to the negative battery cable you just disconnected. The test light will glow or "light" if there is a drain. If the "light or glow" is faint, that is probably normal draw for the clock or computer. If the "light or glow" is bright, then there is a large drain. That should be corrected. Now start removing and replacing the fuses one by one until the light goes out; that one will be the circuit with the drain. Remember to hold in the button in the door jam for the interior lights.

1998 Plymouth Breeze Drains the battery

Check to see that the trunk light and glove compartment light actually turn OFF when the trunk and glove box doors are closed. Also, if one of the diodes on the alternator has failed, it may still test "good." With the car sitting, ignition off, fully-charged battery, check to see if the back of the alternator is HOT. If it is HOT, replace the alternator.

My battery dies i replaced a brand new alternator but still dosen't charge tomthe battery

The battery most likely has dead cells and not charging due to the alternator .The alternator is doing what it should, your battery just can't hold the charge the alternator is putting out. Go have the battery tested at a local auto zone or advance auto store. Free to check

Battery light keeps coming on. brand new battery in car and car keeps dieing

Hi:
The battery light means that your charging system isn't working, so you most likely have a bad alternator, or connection to the battery.
You can test your alternator with a volt meter.
First, get your battery 100% charged up. It should read about 12.6 volts.
Next, start your car, and check the voltage across the battery. It should be at least 14 volts. If not, you are not charging your battery.
Most auto parts stores will check out your battery or alternator for free, if you stop by and don't own or can borrow a volt meter.

New alternator and new battery but the battery is not holding a charge and I had the alternator tested and the alternator is good.

You need to take it somewhere that can do a parasitic draw test. Something in the car is drawing power from the battery with the key off. You can do this yourself if you own an ammeter. If you do, let me know and I can walk you through the test.
