Peugeot 206 XS Can't accelerate above 1000 rpm at any gear

My 2003 peugeot 206 XS (1.6 lt) suddenly does not accelerate above 1000 rpm at any gear, this happens quite often now and I have been at many workshops but nobody could fix it. I have been told that is the Throttle Position Sensor that is in the acceleration body and I have replaced the whole part couple of times and the issue remains. I am not sure it it is related but my car always complains about an anti-contamination error displayed in the front display. The car starts and accelerates normally but after a random amount of time, the error is displayed and the rpm decrease to 1000 and as much as the gas is pressed it does not go above that. Somebody knows what could be the problem?

The very first thing you need to do here is have the engine control module scanned for fault codes with an OBD2 fault code reader or scan tool. Once you have the fault codes then you can diagnose the cause by the fault code or codes received.

SOURCE: Loud low hum coming from

Hi ea
Im dave

The loud low hum sounds like a wheel bearing although i cant actually hear it. Does the sound get louder on right turns? Brake light coming on usually means low fluid check your fluid resorvoir if it below the max mark fill to the max mark. If it has run dry you probably need to bleed your brakes. The light however could mean your handbrake isnt fully released. Be sure it is all the way off if fluid level is adequate and the positioning of the cable is not kinked somewhere under the handbrake.

SOURCE: peugeot 206 glowplugs

If your not good at mechanicing I suggest you take the car to someone that is experenced.
The reason I say this that we have loads of cars into the workshop with glowpugs broken in the head of the engine with the result of us having to remove the cylinder head.
What happens is that the tip of the glowplug breaks in the head when being removed if it is not done properly.
There is a way that we have found that they can be removed easily without breaking them.
Firsty run the car engine until warm, then we pour a little Diesel fuel onto each plug & let them sit for 15mins or so.
Then we remove them with a deep socket 1/4" drive so we don't put to much pressure on them.
they should screw out easily but we turn them out 1 whole turn then back a 1/4 add a little more diesel ( thimble full) & gently screw them out.
If they start to get really tight screw in again a little then screw out again.
The nuts that hold on the wires just need to be nipped up with a small 8mm spanner, but do not over tighten.

SOURCE: peugeot hdi not accelerating fully and oil leak from turbo

Change your engine oil along with oil filter because the same oil is used to cool down your turbo and any dirt means you're going to damage your turbo. Also check the diesel/petrol filter and replace it if not serviced in last two years. Check the hdi pressure (computer diagnose in a garage) because if it is not high enough you can't gain the desired acceleration. If injector seals are leaking then obviously pressure leaks. Clean your turbo sorrounding and check the leakage of oil. In solenoid area If its not enough to drip down or just a little amount that sits with dirt then don't worry (as caused by solenoid seal wear & tear) it has enough life to cover another thousands of miles. Find this solenoid and let it replaced. But if it is from your turbo fan then it doesn't comes out but goes directly in engine to burn with fuel and you can't even find a drop around your turbo housing. Best way is to keep your car serviced in regular intervals.

I have a peugeot 206 allure I have clunking noise when changing from 1st to 2nd and from 2nd to 3rd but not when changing to forth or coming down the gear I have had a new gear box clutch and thrust

It could be a loose/failed engine or transmission mount. Look at the tranny rear mount and check the bolts and condition. Also check the bell housing bolts AND the bolts connecting the engine flywheel to the clutch pressure plate.

Engine runs in idle +/- 2500 rpm

Without checking your car physically, its not possible to give you any idea what it could be or not

Just changed my clutch on my peugeot 206 1.6 now my car wont start what are the likely things wrong

Not a Peugeot expert, but there should be a safety switch to keep you from cranking the engine in gear.
