It sounds like a loose alternator belt. When the engine is running at highway speed, the belts get looser with heat and they will slip a bit. Either get a new belt or tighten the one that's on.

Yes it could be the alternator, or more specifically your voltage regulator which is part of your alternator. An auto elec should be able to test it

Hello,I use honda accord 2004model,(EOD) the DRL life is on,yello lite,pls explain better to me.thanks

in canada? with DRL?
is the charge (battery Light on running)
nice photo but do name all lights, i see idle is at 800rpm good.
i see check engine light there, top left. so you need to scan PCM
using any scan tool
that is first.

DRL can shut down for other failures one is charge lamp. on.
if charge lamp is on , do not drive far, or it will stall and battery will discharge and be stranded. (till AAA auto tow is called <jumped)

Batery light would come on when accelerating up to freeway speed or when going over a big hill and head lights would dim. Mechanic said alt/gen/bat all good, car still seemed to drive fine otherwise....

the voltage regulator is bad inside the alternator. it seems to be getting hot and kicking off the charging system. the last time it has drained your battery.

My dashboard lights suddenly have gone dim--not out but dim and I turned them all the way up. Is there a bulb to replace or something? Please help this girl!! :)

Hello! The problem is that as vehicle's age (not picking on your car...I drive a 93 Acura) the electrical connections rust and corrode...This creates a resistance or blockage of the current necessary to light the instrument panel, as an example...It is like a light dimmer in your home...Turn the knob and dim the lights...Although House voltage is AC and cars are DC It is essentially the same...Adding resistance...Take a look at the connections on the Accord's battery...Are they clean and tight? No white or green stuff on the battery post?...If yes, have them cleaned...If not, the problem is the connection of the negative battery cable to the body of the car (ground straps)...Those dash lights require a solid ground...The connector plug that feeds the instrument panel may also have a bad connection on the pin that carries ground... If you happen to know someone who has a multimeter the connections can be tested...Tell them to set the scale to X1 ohms...Put one meter probe on the center of the - battery post...And the other to a bare metal part inside the vehicle...A bare door hinge bolt, for instance...Meter must read zero, dead short; I believe it does not...An auto parts store sells these ground straps...A braided, wide flexible flat wire with round connectors on either end...They come in different lengths...Not expensive...One connects the body to the engine...And another connects the negative side of the battery to the body...

Or just take the Honda to a trusted garage...Tell them what I've told you...And that little piece of knowledge lets them know that you KNOW...
