My lights went out on the 93 Dodge Dakota I am trying to fix back up. I have no lights unless I pull in on the dimmer switch. THis lever has the wipers on it also wipers are fine just no lights. I tend ot work late and its toughg getting home with no lights. ANy help Please I thought it may be the dimmer switch itself which has wipers flashers and bright dim controls. ??? not sure
All fuses are fine both fuses and relays have been checked and are good. I can turn on the light switch and have no lights but when I pull the turn signal to go from dim to bright the bright lights will come on. Is it the pull switch turning the lights on or is it the switch in the steering colum that has the wipers, emerg flashers and brightr dim control? not sure All fuses are fine both fuses and relays have been checked and are good. This is very common. the headlight switch is bad. replace the switch and that should solve the problem.
i have run into some that the dash lights dont work at all or they come on and off while driving. the switch goes bad. there is also a dimmer switch . the dimmer switch controls the dim or brightness off the lights.
some times when the dimmer switch on the floor goes bad the headlights will cut out. Try replacing the dimmer switch and the headlights should come back on. My 84 dodge had that exact problem.
One of your door sensors (or trunk sensor) is signaling that it is open or the dimmer switch is turned all the way up, which turns on the dome and foot lamps. Try turning the dimmer switch all the way down. If this does not fix the problem you will have to get all the door sensors (and trunk sensor) tested to determine which one needs to be replaced.
I would have to say that this odd problem is due to the headlight relay under the hood sticking when it is VERY cold. There really can't be any other cause. If this helps you, please remember to vote/comment. Good luck!
Are these interior lights our the headlights? If it is the interior lights, you should pull the dimmer switch and check for a bad connection especially the ground connection on the back side. If that is okay, you may need to buy a new switch. If it is the headlights, check for a bad relay.
