Heavy gas smell on 2000 jaguar vanden plas

check for a bad fuel filter or a leaking rubber line after the fuel pump . To dump that much fuel so quickly ,the fuel pump is pumping to a broken /split hose or steel line.

Have a 2001 jaguar vanden plas. It won't start. It cranks fine battery is good but it won't turn over. I have been told could be fuel filter and or fuel pump. If you agree how do i change

To confirm that is is the fuel pump at issue here get a can of spray starting fluid and next time it won't fire up spray it into the air intake hose of the engine while someone cranks the engine over, if it lights right off then the pump may be the problem. A clogged fuel filter may cause loss of power but seldom if ever a no start.

I am getting a P0443 code on my 2002 Jaguar Vanden Plas. Simultaneously, when I try to fuel the tank, the pump keeps shutting off like the tank was full but there is only about 1/3 of a tank of gas in the...

The EVAP system purges any build up of vapours from the fuel tank and burns them thro the engine at pre-detemined times. This is done by means of the EVAp solenoid which when energised allows engine vacuum at one side to **** the vapours from the other side and pass them thro engine. Look for the black solenoid with two vacuum pipes and two wire plug on it. think you may be correct and have disturbed it when doing the air filter.

Jaguar Vanden Plas 1996 where is fuel filter located?

The fuel filter is an inline type, and is located up under the Driverside rear wheel arch. If you get underneath and look up and behind the rear coil spring you will see it. just follow the fuel lines from the tank. It's a bit tight and you will get covered in fuel but it's doable.

Fram's number is G3727, which is the same used on my '04 Chevy Suburban. You'll need to release the fuel pressure by unscrewing the gas cap first. Also, you'll need some wrenches to hold fast both at the filter and line ends, plus some rags and a coffee can to catch/absorb the fuel that will spill out of both the filter and the line; you'll loose about 1/2 a cup. Good luck.
