2005 Suburban tail gate latch

I have a 2005 Suburban and the tail gate latch will not work. I got the rug stuck in the hatch and I think that I just broke the latch trying to open it. The latch is still attached but it will not go back down all the way. I tried to lock and unlock the hatch but with no luck.

How to open a stuck Back hatch on 2007 Suburban?

Open Stuck Back Hatch

How to open a stuck Back hatch on 2007 Suburban?

There are a few things you can try to open a stuck back hatch on a 2007 Suburban:

Check the battery in the keyless remote. If the battery is low or dead, the remote may not have enough power to release the latch.

Check the latch itself for any debris or obstruction that may be preventing it from releasing.

If the latch seems to be working properly, try manually releasing it by pulling on the emergency release handle inside the vehicle.

If none of the above steps work, it may be a problem with the power liftgate module or actuator and you should take it to a mechanic or dealership for further diagnosis and repair.

Lubricate the hinges of the hatch door with a silicone-based lubricant to ensure the door opens smoothly.

2008 suburban Stuck Lift Gate Lock

I have a 2008 Suburban with the power liftgate disabled. I have had the power latch stop working, and the BCM report that the rear access open when it is closed (both gate and glass). Somehow the liftgate module thinks the gate is open, so I cannot open the gate at all, and the latch and rear wiper will not work. To reset the control module I pulled the liftgate fuse (#20) in the instrument panel fuse box, turned the car on, off, reinstalled fuse, turned car on, unlocked doors using drivers side switch, and the power latch will function again - at least for a while.

2004 chryaler Pacifica tail gate location

I have run into this problem and i found that the switch that operates alarm and inside light is bad, the switch is located on the latch, the latch may need to be removed to replace the switch. some dealers do not sell just the switch, i have run into this problem where switch is not replaceable the complete latch needs to be replaced.

Another problem i have run into is the wiring going into the hatch breaks, the wiring from bendine due to door opening and closing breaks a wire or two due to bending , locate wiring coming into rear hatch and check each wire,

2006 suburban - liftgate and high tail light quit working and I can't find out which fuse could be bad. All other locks work.

The lights and the electronic tail-gate lock cylinder are on differient electrical circuits, most likely, your problem is in the rear hatch wiring harness. See attached description: C406 - C901120487861You will find the connector just inside the rear liftgate, in the headliner. This will be the connector that handles these items. It is common for them to become abraided and wear the wires through.

2007 CHEVY SUBURBAN- TAIL GATE WILL NOT LATCH

Try changing the liftgate latch. If you have power liftgate, that is the usual fault by experience. There is also possibility for the other associated components to fail, but they are more costly. You can go for these repair while the gate is not yet stuck closed, so you can easily remove the trim panel. However, I still suggest a preliminary check up on the circuits. The fuses, switches, modules, codes, etc. If the liftgate seems to be operational, except for the proper closing and initial opening, its most likely the latch. I just hope we get lucky on that. Okay, there? goodluck. : )

Tail gate problem

I believe there are one or more service bulletins out on the tail gate issue, so you are not alone. I have seen a vehicle with this issue. The bullitin states adjust latch/ do not replace. We tried to adjust 4 times and ended up installing a new latch to remedy.
