The crank sensor is located behind the oil filter. trace your wires from the coil pack and you will should be able to see it. if not pull your right tire off and your oil filter and thats were it should be.

My 98 sunfire starts then stalls after 2 minutes then every time i start it it stalls sooner i replaced the fuel pump and filter no codes are showing any ideas

This is most likely your crank position sensor.... it sits behind your harmonic balancer and tells the PCM what position the crank shaft is at at all times. These sensors aare around 30 dollars at a local parts shop but you will need a pulley puller and a good impact wrench to remove the balancer

My 97 sunfire has a bad cranck shaft sensor. where is that located? would it also make the car not start?

Yes it would and will make the car not start. Your crank sensor is located behind your harmonic balancer, which is the large pulley that turns all the belts. THe one that is coming off the crank shaft.

Does my 2003 pontiac sunfire ecotec motor have a cam sensor? Where is it? If it starts as soon as u give it gas it cuts out. I've replaced: fuel pump, fuel filter, coil pk, spark plugs, crank sensor,...

there is still more to check. like the mass air flow sensor, the whole fuel line cleanout, and if its an auto it does have a camshaft sensor. its located into the transmission.

Adding transmission fluid to 98 pontiac sunfire

There is a plug located on top of the transmission under the brake master cylinder. It is held in place by a bolt on the side of the transmission near the firewall. Remove the bolt, then remove the plug. Fill it until the fluid comes out of the hole.

I need the location of a knock sensor on a 98 sunfire please

Look at the top of the engine block below the intake manifold. There you should find the knock sensor wherethe throttle cables connect to the throtle body, reaching it from underneath, and bolted to the top of the motor with a wire connctor, below comes a picture:

Car want crank over

This is Caused by the Fuel Pump. If you remove the Fuel Pump relay and it will try to Crank, You have a Bad Fuel Pump. I do Believe that the Fuel Pump is located inside the Fuel Tank on the Sunfire. Not an easy Repair But, Necessary
