First off, the car wouldn't start and reported a 'battery/alternator' fault - applied a jump starter to the terminals, nothing. It was trailered into the main dealer and they replaced earth leads and it worked - for a day. Next day battery ran out of juice on way to work - but would restart and work with a jumper pack on the battery terminals - recovered again to main dealer. Main dealer replaced alternator - car worked, for a week. Now car refused to start - back to same symptoms as first time - about to be recovered for a third time. I'd like to replace the main dealer's strategy of randomly replacing modules at my expense until they accidentally get it right - any advice appreciated.
Alternators are expensive parts, especially at dealerships. I'm inclined to agree with you, they should have got it right the first time. No shortage of tools with them, but in fairness to them, intermittent faults are the hardest to detect.
They might come back and say you need a new battery, although it does seem odd that a little testing the first time might have caught that.
Those are the two main items in the start circuit you are having trouble with. Well, the battery, the alternator, the starter and the ignition switch, those four items are the main parts of the start circuit. But with a good battery and an alternator to keep the battery charged up, it will crank over every time. Ideally, that means it will start and run.

1....ensure the battery in the "Key Fob" is OK............Press either Lock or Unlock button for more than 1 second, the lamp on the fob will light if OK. Change battery if it does not illuminate!
2.....if battery on fob OK.......Re Syncronise the key fob to the car by:.... a brief press on either button twice and within 30 seconds turn Key to position 2 on the ignition lock
Hope that fixes it...let me know?

Let's test the battery. Turn on yout headlights ant try to crank engine.
If the headlights dim, the battery is dead. If the headlightd go out you have a bag connection.
Now if the battery is dead we need to start it to ck the charging ststem.
If the indicarion is a bad connection then the battery cables beed removing clean and tight reinstsllation( special attento both ends of boyj cables.
To ck altrnator engine must be running and uou need a 10 dollar multimer from a parts stor and then get back to me K?
