Match the old belt up for size with the new replacement belt.

Observe the belt routing diagram in the engine compartment.

Install the new belt over each of the drive pulleys. Often the manufacturer recommends a sequence for feeding the belt around the pulleys.

Before adjusting belt tension, check for proper pulley alignment. This is especially critical with serpentine belts. Measure the belt deflection in its longest span. How do i replace the tensioner pully on my 1996 chevy cavalier

It's pretty easy take the serpenten belt off if it has a motor mount on top of the serpenten belt you will have to jack up on the motor on the right side to releive the pressure on the mount remove the mount and tensioner should be a 13 or 15 millimeter bolt remove install new one put serpentine belt on then motor mount good to go thanks.

How do i adjust a serpentine belt on a 96 jeep cherokee

You don't. If the belt looks frayed or otherwise damaged you replace it. There is however a belt tensioner which kind of automatically applies tension to the belt which removes the need to adjust belts like the old v belts with the adjustor brackets. You shouldn't have more than 1/2 to 1" or belt play otherwise if so your tensioner may be going out and need to be replaced.

How do I replace the serpentine belt on a 1998 Buick LeSabre? In particular, where exactly is the engine mount bolt that I need to remove?

who told you you had to remove an engine mount bolt. I replaced a serpentine belt on a mercury grand marquis and it i was just a matter of relieving the tension on the tensioner pully and positioning the new belt back on. I actually used my waistbelt(yes the belt on your pants) as a "rope" to pull the new belt up and over the last pully. it is easier when two people work on it but i was by myself. Your engine compartment should have a diagram of how your belt goes in case you forget to pay attention to that.

Altenator belt popped off is not broken 3.0 grand plymoth voger

this is a common problem with dodge, crysler, and plymounth modles with 6 cylinder engines the alignment is slightly off of the pulleys
dodge had this in their service bulletins years ago and but didn't bother to tell anyone about it. you'll need either a replacement idler pulley wich should come with a washer that fixes the alignment or you'll need to purchace a belt kit that replaces the tentioner pully idler pully and has a new double sided ribbed belt.
amazon sells it for about $100. US

Change a serpentine belt on a 1996 chevy cavalier

Diagram should be under the hood
The auto tensioneris down low and dificult to get to.
If it has not been changed in a while you will need a long thin push stick and a serpentine tool.
Push on the belt hard at the auto adjuster and pop the belt off the smooth pully (located top).
hook up the serpentine belt tool and then mount the new belt

How to replace accessory serpentine belt on 1996 Riviera

The supercharged 3800 engine uses two accessory drive belts. The outer belt drives the supercharger. The inner belt drives the generator, power steering pump, coolant pump and air conditioning compressor. All driven accessories are rigidly mounted to the engine. Drive belt tension is maintained by the spring loaded belt tensioner. Each belt has its own tensioner.
Remove: Place a jack with a block of wood on it under oil pan to support engine. Caution : Be sure the wood block extends past the width of the oil pan to avoid damage.

Power steering pump

First check the distance from the bracket mount points on the block, to the pump mount points on both brackets. If distance is different then the brackets are different. If they are the same, you may need to either change pump itself to one that matches engine year. However, if there is sufficient room on the pump shaft, any shop that rebuilds pumps can re-position the pulley to your specs, or replace the pulley with one that has a different offset.
