It does not have a chip in it, it does have a piece of resistive wire embedded in it near the base/key head, u need to measure the resistance of that wire on the spare key to get the right one, there are about 20 choices. let me know the resistance and i will look it up.

With proof of ownership your local dealer should be able to cut you a new key off of the VIN number.

Lost keys car will not start, have a key to turn the ignition but has no chip how can i get round it

Short of hot wiring the vehicle(not recommended), you cannot get around it. The chip is used for theft prevention. The only way is to have another set of keys with a chip made.

93 pontiac bonneville security light stays on and car won't start.

You can easily bypass the entire VATS system. There is a clear write-up here on this website:http://newrockies.ca. This was the only thing that saved my 94 Park Avenue with the same security system.

My boneville 94 doesn`t start

If you have an alarm system in your vehicle ,it may have to be serviced. Also your vehicles car key may be dirty or damaged. Try using a different key. Some keys have chips installed in them.

Engine won't start!!!!!

It's possible the "anti-thielf" system has been failing and went out while you was driving. If the ignition key has a chip in the shaft of the key your car has anti-thieft. It's possible the system doesn't reconisethe igntion key and shut the system down. Try using another igntion key if it came with 2 keys. If the engine started you'll need to get the other igntion key replace.

Motor stop running

Try driving it in drive as opposed to overdrive, we had the same problem and our mechanic told us it was the fault of a computer chip, the chip in older Bonevilles that cause this problem are located in your transmission and will cost more than it is worth to replace, so I suggest leaving off with putting it in overdrive.
