Thumping Noise In Front End (Going Over Multiple Bumps)

I wanted to know if anyone has/had the same problem I'm having with my 2002 S-type (3.0 V6)? When I go over a bumpy section of road, it sounds like the suspension is smacking against the floor of the car (Front End Only) and the struts/shocks don't seem to be worn??? I'm assuming its a bushing issues?

I need to know if anyone has found this under a recall (I can't) or what they did to have the problem solved. I would hate to replace the front struts simply for a rubber bushing issue.

Other then that, I love my Jag and would be glad to offer answers to anybody's questions if I can.

Thansk, G

Noise from rear end of 2018 Equinox when traveling down the road sounds like a thumping noise could wind cause this

Wind......yes, only if something is loose and swinging around. Check the stabilizers as they often cause a clunking sound and is more pronounced when going over bumps, even small ones.

2005 cadillac front end thumping noise

That's a tough one since there can be so many different causes, starting with something loose under the hood to a problem with the suspension (sway bar links, control arm bushing, ball joint, strut mount, motor mount, etc etc). This can be a serious safety issue, so if it were my vehicle, I would first get to a dealer or alignment shop right away to have the front end suspension, tires and wheels checked.

Replaced all struts and upper control arms and 2001 accord is still making thumping noise whenn going over bumps

Sounds like your ball joints may be worn. You can check them yourself or have someone check them for you. If you elect to check yourself you may want to search youtube for a video. Basically you are supporting the vehicle and letting the suspension hang and lifting up on the wheels with a long bar while watching or play in the ball joint.

Resolving a clunking in front end of a ford tarus 2002 a consistant clunking over bumps. sounds like the front end is going to come apart.

Lower control arm bushings and lower ball joints can cause a noise like this. But I have fixed a few that sounded like the front end was falling offf. It turned out to be the air conditioning plenum under the dash. There is a tube that comes loose some how. this tube stretches all the way across the dash. you can see part of it under the drivers side, it disappears in the center. I take a piece of thick foam and wedge it under the tube towards the center column. Most times this gets rid of the noise or most of it. No one wanted to pay to take apart the dash to fix the passenger side.

Front suspension noise-dull rattle-thumping sound,bumpy roads

look at the front lower engine mount. I had similar noise which has been driving me nuts, thought may be thesway bar links, put it on friends hoist and saw that the front engine mount (mounted to bottom of lower radiator support) was cracked and the rubber bushing inside very worn with pieces missing. odd thing is that reving, or putting into gear never caused it to make a noise, just certain bumps. I ordered part from Autozone, hopefully it gets here before the holiday week end is over.
Good luck
