Fuel pressure What is the fuel pressure supposed to on a 2001 Ponitac Grand Prix?

It's fuel pressure regulator .
The fuel pressure regulator attaches to the fuel module assembly. The fuel pressure regulator, located in the fuel tank, is attached to the fuel sender assembly. The fuel pressure regulator keeps the fuel available to the fuel injectors at a regulated pressure

there may be some bad wireing in it that went bad or some thing i own a 2002 ponitac grand prix and it has power probums but i never see that one before but check the wireing

The fuel filter on this vehicle is located inside the fuel tank and is part of the fuel pump module. It's supposed to be a lifetime filter, and most of the time they are, but if it should ever clog then the entire fuel pump module has to be replaced.

Sounds like fuel pump, you need to have it check with a pressure gauge. if you have a 3.3 in that car the pressure is suppose to be 40.5 to 47 psi.

I would check for fuel at the test port on the fuel rail. Also check for spark at the plugs. You could have a bad fuel pump or igntion control module.

There is no fuel pump cut off switch in General Motors vehicles.If you don`t have fuel pressure or the pump is not running you have to check the fuel pressure with a fuel pressure gauge.You can check the fuel pump fuse and make sure it is good.Hope this helps.Good luck.

A fuel pressure test should be performed as I suspect the fuel pressure regulator is leaking fuel into the vacuum line causing the engine to flood on restart.
A drop in fuel pressure would confirm this.

Fuel pressure loss is the usual cause. Check your fuel pressure. This can be caused by a plugged fuel filter or a faulty fuel pump. The next thing to check is your fuel pressure regulator

Check the fuel pump inline resistor located on the right side front fender between the frame and the windshield washer fluid canister. When this resistor goes bad those are the symptoms.
