2006 Chevrolet Silverado. I have taken it to Chevrolet service, where they "fixed" it, but 2 days later it goes back on, I've taken it back to service, and once more, they claim to have solved the problem and the light goes on again after a coupe of days.

I have had this problem on 2003 Silverado and a 2012 Yukon. Both found the same problem, under pasanger seat front there is a plastic cover over a wiring harness. Often the wires break due to stress. Open and examine it. look for broken wire. Also get the trouble code, could be a sensor at the bumper

I have a 2007 chevrolet silverado and my service airbag light came on. I was out camping with the sterio going and ran the batt low but their was enough juice to restart after about 10 min. On the way home the service light stayed on and i just fixed the problem which was a fuse under the hood in the main fuse pannel. It is very common due to low voltage on start up to blow a 15 amp fuse.

Just had the exact same problem on my ford explorer. Air bag systems are very sensitive to voltage drops. My battery was 4 years old. I had it tested and it was bad. My suggestion is to go to autozone and have battery checked. If battery is bad then buy new battery. Then have the autozone clear code from car. I am willing to bet that this is your problem. As I said before I had exact problem and all it was was the friggen battery.

Check with your local dealership there may be a recall on the airbag system.

SOURCE: the airbag light came on and stayed on for no reason.

I have the same issue (which comes and goes often).
It is caused by a loose wire connection, used for the drivers side airbag located in the seat.. The connector for mine is located under the front drivers seat. There are a couple of connectors that are connected to a bar under the front of the seat. I don't recall which one is used for the Airbag sensor.

SOURCE: Service airbag light came on for no reason. Not in

Hello, the system will have to be scanned for trouble codes to what the problem is for sure. but most likely it is a wire that has rubbed thru on the back of steering wheel. this wire is from the sir coil to the air bag itself. you need to to get this looked at as soon as possible. this is a safety related concern. air bag systems should be repaired by a tech

Fiat 500 airbag light stays on but reads no faults

Hello,
Airbags are only serviceable by the dealership, the light indicates there is a problem in the Airbag system and they will not deploy in case of an accident. Regular scanners would not read anything related to Airbags. Talk to your dealrship, I would ask if there is any safety recalls concerning airbags on your model.

Hi The airgag system light stays on after ignition

The computer detected something wrong with the airbag system, and it's likely that the airbags will NOT deploy if you are in an accident. It could be a simple disconnected wire somewhere, or a bad sensor; not expensive to repair but you have to know exactly what to do to repair it, or you could set off the airbag instead.

Sorry, this is NOT a do-it-yourself project. Take this to your dealer or other trusted mechanic and get it repaired by a professional. If you set off the airbag trying to repair it yourself, you will cause about $2000 to $5000 (US) damage to the vehicle. And obviously, NOT having the airbag deploy in an accident when it should, could cause serious injury or death, even if you are wearing your seatbelts. (You DO wear your seltbelts, don't you?)

Why does my airbag light stay on all the time. Nothing happened to the car the day it just turned on. So I don't believe it need airbag system needs serviced. Even when the battery was disconnected the...

Sounds to me like one of the air bag sensors may have tripped, causing the airbag computer to think the vehicle has been wrecked. Take the vehicle to a dealership and have them reset the air bag sensors to get rid of the light.

Airbag light on instrument panel flashes then stays illuminated

Some vehicles you can disconnect the battery for 10-20 mins and it usually resets a check engine light. But the airbag light is different. This means there is something wrong with the airbag system and it will not go out until maintenance.

My airbag light stays on

I just had my car worked on in one shop, a HYUNDAI ATOS 2000 they fixed a bad windshield wiper mechanism, but after the repair, my airbag light remained illuminated,
the garage mechanic tried with 2 diagnostic computers to
'reboot' my cars own computer, but neither of his devices could communicate with my car,
I had to go to another garage with a proper computer
the repair took only 5 seconds!!
sobs!, they charged me $50 for the 'work'......the first garage evidenlty, touched something, and I had to pay the bill......live & learn,.
before this I tried all the 'tricks' like disconnecting the battery,
first neg, then pos, nothing else worked, damned computers!!

Airbag light

This is either a problem with one or both of your airbags or the airbag connector located at the back of the glovebox has been disconnected for some reason. (ie. to prevent airbag opening when installing baby seat) (1999 miata does not have a baby seat airbag disabling sensor).

You should get your car inspected at your local mazda service to check if this is a wiring (plug disconnected) issue or one of your airbags is malfunctioning and needs to be replaced.

Flashing airbag light could indicate that either one of the airbags or both have a problem. Disconnecting the passenger's airbag has the same effect.

Warning! Do NOT attempt to do any kind of airbag/airbag wiring related repair yourself. Airbag problems should be addressed ONLY by certified technicians at your local Mazda service. (Airbag fixing requires for example that the car battery is disconnected, you MUST NOT attempt anything with the car battery connected).

Hope this helps.
