Just a thought: If you have two electric fans one comes on when you turn the A/C on the other does not come on till the car reaches normal operating engine coolant water temperature.

Why does my fan keep running in my 2003 Volvo S 60 after the car is off?

It can be faulty fan relay. The relay is not turning the system off.Or its wire short issue.Even with ignition off ,the fan relay is getting power so its not letting the fan to turn off.Bypass the fan control relay and see if still the fan works with ignition off or not.

Where is the fuse to the heater fan blower located in my 2005 Pontiac Grand Prix. Owners manual has 3 different fans. Is it the HVAC fuse or one of the 3 fans? The heater fan quit and want to check the...

Hi, should be listed as heater blower motor not fans ,the fans is the ones in front of radiator. most common problems are the blower motor resistor, which is in passenger side compartment near fire wall. This is were your blower motor is also. You can check and see if its getting power to resistor, with a test light if power is at resistor, check and see if you are getting power at blower motor if no power there replace resistor. But if you have power at motor replace blower motor. If i can help further just re post. thanks

Where is the air conditioner blower fan relay on 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee located?

The blower fan relay is located in the fuse box on the driver's side fender-well. A Jeep Cherokee uses an electric fan as an auxiliary fan for engine cooling and for cooling the air conditioning condenser when the air conditioning is in operation. A radiator temperature-sensing switch that activates the fan relay at 198 degrees F turns the fan on and controls its operation. The temperature drops when the vehicle is in motion and the switch turns the fan off. When the air conditioning system is in operation, the air conditioning relay supplies power to the fan relay via a fan diode downstream from the ignition switch. This diode activates the fan relay and keeps the fan operating as long as the air conditioning is on. Thanks. you can rate this solution and show your appreciation.

The heater fan is not operating and I thought it might be a blown fuse. I checked the fuse box under the dash and couldn't locate the fuse for the fan by the descriptions given. Do you know which fuse on...

My 2002 I35 has the blower fuse under the hood in the fuse box in the engine compartment. The fuse box cover has the "key" or description of which fuse is which. If the blower fuse is bad and you replace it, only to have the fuse burn again then I would check the blower resistors that are located behind the glove box. Very common for one of these resistors to go bad causing only low speed operation of fan. Burns the fuse when you try to operate the fan on the higher speeds. Good Luck

I am trying to locate the relay panel on my 99 vw passat 2.8 gls. My electric cooling fan was broken so I replaced it last night and tested it on the battery to verify it works- but it is not getting power...

open the drivers door .. on the end of the dash (normally covered by the door) is a panel .. pop off that panel and the fuses are there .. of course fix the problem that caused the wires to burn then locate the fuse .. not easy since they give you a really cryptic guide to the fuses .. of course you should be able to see one thats blown .. if you cant read the gliphs then call a dealer to find out which fuse is which .. the relays are also behind the fuses .. again not marked except by big numbers stamped on each but no guide .. there are two fans .. the driver side is the cooling fan ..the passenger side is the air conditioner .. that is operated by a pressure switch in front of the condenser (front of car under gril on passenger side) .. .. likely a coolant temp switch operates the cooling fan .. actually i can check that if you need more info ..

2001 Solara fans run all the time after radiator installation.

the thermostat should be located inside the fan shroud it will be a small silver rectangular box usually @1/2" x 2" with a wire coming off of it (most models NOTE:if check engine light is on it will probably be the temp sending unit located elsewhere) however I would try to find a relay with the same numbers on it as the third one you pulled and swap the two then see if the fans stop and you will know if the relay is bad

Cooling fan does not operate on my 1991 oldsmobile, cutlass calai

Your cooling fan is controlled by a temp switch and ac on/off. If it doesn't ever come on check fuse, check relay and check temp sensor. run diagnosticscould help..check fan motor with 12 volt power

Car over heating but no water coming from the vehicle, 2000 montero sport

there could be several reasons for this.#1 the theromostat is stuck closed.(the quickest way to check this is to get the engine to operating tempature, if the upper radiator hos is cold your thermostat is not open and needs replacing.#2your cooling fans are not operating.( you should have 12 volts going to the cooling fans and you have fuses/relays that allow this. they are located in the junction box located under the hood to check the relay just have the engine at operating temp and then switch the relay( i use the a/c clutch relay to swap with) if the fan kicks on then you know it was the relay/fuse. If it doesn't it could be the fan is bad ot the temp sensor on the fan is defective.#3poor circulation ofcoolant.(the water pump has to circulate properly in order to to keep the engine cooled down. If all the other componants check out then i suspect that the water pump needs replacement. You will also have to power wash the radiator. Bugs, dirt and road grime restrict the flow of air over the coils and fins of the radiator thus not allowing the the heat to be dispersed properly. please rate the solution......thanks
