Hello Joey325,
Look under the hood on the fire wall behind the engine there is a black cover with 3 tall black what look like nuts. remove them and you will see a relay center, now there should be a brown wire marked timing may be not marked but pretty sure its brown just unplug it and go from there. I sure hopes that gets you going and thanks for using

Could be as simple as your fuel filter...after the truck starts..can you keep it runing by gunning the motor?

If you can feather the accelerator to keep the motor runing, I'd start at the filter, and then check the fuel pump

SOURCE: 1992 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 tailgate wont latch

latches for this are on the sides. The are connected by the handle in the middle of the gate. Latches are either stuck open (dry or frozen open) or stuck closed and you are banging on them when trying to close and "latch" gate. Get a screwdriver and while pulling up on tailgate handle make sure latches(on gate) are open to engage "striker bolt". If they are spray them liberally with WD40 or silicone SPRAY. latch and open several times to let lubricant attack rusted area on mechanism.

If latches won't open they may be stuck closed and won't open because cable going from middle handle to that side or both sides is disconnected. Does tailgate have star shaped bolts on "inside-bed-when-closed" side? If so you will need to spray these with WD40 and let set then get a star torques bit and remove them to access middle handle actuator.

Keep me posted and good luck, be glad to help you.

My truck is a 1999 silverado z71 w/ the 5.3. its got almost 200k miles on it and has always been reliable. Last week I was hualing a jeep home on a trailer and it got hot while driving in 100 degree heat w...

What this sounds like is a bad fan clutch. The people who flushed your radiator wanted money. The fan clutch is attatched to the water pump and fan. You can borrow the wrenches you need from most auto parts stores. The fan clutch runs about $60 and you can get the one for systems with a tow package which will aide in keeping the truck cool during heavy towing operations. When you go to install the fan clutch to the pump, give it a couple turns and then start the engine. The turning of the engine will spin and lock the fan clutch right into place so you do not need the wrenches at that point. Just for removal. Let me know if you need anything else.

My ac works and blows well at times...at times the ac will just blow hot air. I will turn off and turn back on a day or so later and then the ac works fine. 1999 chevrolet silverado 1500. any help?

I had the same problem - charged the freon, no help. Finally an ole timer AC guy found the problem - the clutch gap needed to be adjusted. Don't know if he tightened or loosened, but find an AC guy and ask them about the clutch gap.

94 chevy 1500 will start for about 30 mins. and then just stop

Does it blow black smoke when it's hot? if so, Replace the cold start sensor. If not check to make sure your cats aren't plugged, (they will get red hot). If they are plugged the engine will loose power and stall.

Stalling out

sound like the spark plugs arent firing hot. try replacing them, if still a problem it could be distributor. start with plugs, they are cheaper
