What is the make, model and year of the vehicle? What exactly does it do when you turn the key? If it just winds without trying to start it is probably a spark issue. Have you checked to see if the air filter got wet? A wet filter will starve the engine of air and cause a 'no start' problem.
The most likely reasons will probably be the distributor, the alternator or the spark plugs and wires. Try this.
Remove ONE spark plug wire. Clean it and dry it. Check the exposed end of the spark plug is clean and dry as well. Check the cable and the caps at each end are not damaged. Refit the wire BEFORE you remove the next one. Do this for all of the plug wires.
Carefully remove the distributor cap but DO NOT remove any of the plug wires. Make a note of which way around the cap is positioned, most caps only fit in one position so this is just being careful. I usually mark it with a small dot from a marker pen as a reference. The cap is usually held down with spring clips or 2 small bolts. Make sure the inside of the cap is clean, the terminals inside are shiney and there is no damage or cracks in it.
Also clean and dry the rotor arm on top of the distributor body as well. These are usually a tight 'Push On' fit so should just pull off. They are designed to only fit in one specific position when pushed back on so if it wont go back on try rotating it like a clock and it should drop into place.
The alternator is designed to be exposed to a damp environment so leaving it for a couple of days to dry out can usually solve the issue.

Well you need a few things for an engine to run. Spark , Fuel, and Air..to start. Assuming that the plugs are the correct ones, and all the wires are connected properly & that the distributor cap was installed properly (AND SET IN TIME correctly). I would have to lean towards maybe a warped head. But there a quite a few variables that need to be eliminated before you can really begin to start down the road with a diagnosis. Good Luck
you need a new frost plug. your antifreeze wasn't strong enough. you might have cracked your block. look in your radiator to see if there is still coolant in it.
It depends on the engine you have. If you do not have a 100,000 mile sparkplug then replace plugs every 40,000 to 50,000 miles. Or at 2 to 3 year intervals whichever comes first.
Other maintenence requires shorter times. Oil changes and filters 3000 to 5000 miles. Air filters about 12,000 miles. If you have a distributor cap and rotor about 30,000 to 40,000 miles depending on wear.
Check antifreeze strength, change antifreeze every 3 years. Always have axles and wheel bearings checked at least every 24,000 miles. Lube door hinges annually, hood release, trunklid hinges, etc.
