Hi, i got a 2005 bmw x5 diesel, and when its cold the gears take thier time to change, but when its warm its perfect, can you help pls thanx
M8 try changing the gearbox oil or check if its at its optimal level if the box is empty of gear oil it would do the same thing
This is normal to some extent to try and warm up the tranny to opp temperature as soon as possible. make sure the vehicle had the latest software installed in the transmission as this could also cause a delayed shift when cold.

Before you make any other moves, I would try having the transmission flushed and refilled and filters changed and if that doesn't work, you may have burned out the modulator so you may have to shop around for another transmission or have that one rebuilt, whichever would be feasibly financial for you.

This link decribes how to change the Fog Lamp at Xoutpost.com. ( It is a forum for the X BMW's ). Good luck.
