Two different problems !

Rear heater problem: find under the hood where is hose for cooling liquid goes to front heating core!
you will see there also vacuum tubesgoing in to little valve ! disconnect the vaccum tubes ( engine off)
and spray in wd 40 in to the vlave ... valve is stuck and wont open flow to rear heater !

you do not have to replace tha thing . its very well made and because you dont turn this often in summer
it gets stuck. i had same problem. also make sure vacuum is working - Engine running turn rear heater on - vacuum sucks to open valve. and before that make sure fuse is ok .

for rear AC mine does not work either and it is leak on pipes that go from front to rear .. 10 feet of pipes and tubing $$ expensive repair ... forget it ... open the window...

Vents won't blow hot or cold air. Comes from defrost and feet when you put fan on.

It's the vent actuator, it moves the baffle that changes the direction of the air flow.
Here is a video of a broken vacuum hose that creates the same problem.

It could also be a failed actuator.

Ac just stop blowing through the ac duct and only blows through the defrost and heat vent.its a 1997 gmc safari 4.3

I didn't see year--make--model listed?
Probably a problem with actuator. At the moment I don't know if actuator is electrical or vacuum operated, maybe a combination of both?

When front air is on rear heat always

If you have owners manual check that your climate control settings are as you expect them to be, if that makes sense. Some on Fixya do not realise they gave climate control , they think they have normal A/C and try to correct chimerical problems. Please check and repost

My gmc yukon 2000 slt rear ac blows hot air when i have ac . on and the front works fine .

I have a 2000 GMC Savana Van SLT with front and rear AC/Heat. My front would blow hot while the rear blew cold with AC on. It turned out to be low on Freon. It's hard to know if you have the right amount of freon installed because pressures vary depending on the ambient temperatures. So the best way is to remove all the freon then reinstall the recommended amount as listed on the evaporator housing near the firewall. This worked fine for me... works like new after installing the correct amount of freon.

1996 gmc safari minivan has multiple electrical problems wipers wont come on heater blower wont come on windows dont work radio does not work switch for rear passenger area lights not workin i think that...

on multiple problems the first thing to check is the grounds, you can have a different electrical lead to many circuits but they usually share a common ground,

Rear wheel cylinder is bad on my 1997 GMC Safari. Is it dangerous to drive it like this?

if the wheel cylinder blows out you will lose your brakes. I would say that is dangerous.
