Loss of power and a clicking noise

I'll be driving a long fine and then all of a sudden I'll lose power. It'll restore if I brake at a stop sign or something. There is also a slight clicking noise. I looked under the car as best as I could and noticed the exhaust is a little lower than it used to be. Could it be an exhaust problem, or is more likely transmission?

SOURCE: car will not start makes fast clicking noise

The Starter Solenoid is doing the clicking. The starter Solenoid needs replaced.
Just like the windows and the lights, it is getting power, it is just too weak to run the starter.

You'll have to have the trans pulled and rebuilt

With all that slipping, it is beyond any other fix

Engine knock & loss of power/acceleration

It appears that you have lost water and over heated the motor. The systoms you describe are what happens when an extra hot engine starts to seize the pistons in the bore. Cooling down allows the engine to restart but the noise comes from broken rings and aluminium being removed from the sides of the pistons. If you have an EFI car the cpu unit is probably limiting the engine revs just to get you to athe nearest service place.I suspect you will need a replacement engine

Driving my Saab 2000 non-turbo, 9-5 at road speeds had a sudden lose of power and smoke pouring from the exhaust. Checked the cooling fluid, OK, checked the oil level, almost empty, What Could Cause This?

I hate to say this but it sounds like a blown head gasket. If your at all inclined, it can be a DIY job. You'll need a good set of tools including a torque wrench,(you can rent one for a half day, rather than buy one). For detailed step by step instructions I'd recommend you register for free at www.autozone.com Once registered you'll have access to repair and shop manuals for virtually any car or truck. All the data and diagrams you need now or may need in the future will be a couple of mouse clicks away.

My volvo s80 will not start and when it does the engine shakes and then it dies out, it says "Reduced Engine Power" what can that be?

Have the timing checked if you can get it runing for a few minutes. If not I would have the computers codes checked if possible. It sounds like a timing problem

1990 gmc k2500 new 5.7engine & turbo 400 ,power lose & noise.

sounds as if you may be looking in the wrong spot. If different gearing is drastically changing the symptoms you may want to check the trans. or torque converter. sudden pop with engine rpm increase and lack of power sounds like possible band breakage in transmission or impellor breakage in torque converter.
