Ive a 2006 almera car died this morning as i was parking, wouldnt start after. its a new battery only 6 months old. no battery light came on to indicate alternator but when i jumped stated it, it started but wheen i knocked it of it wouldnt start again. but once the leads are back on it starts
Even a relativly new battery can develope a bad or dead cell. Does the engine spin over when ignition is attempted? Easiest way to check this is to load test the battery. Any major auto parts dealer( Advance, Autozone, NAPA, Oriellys, etc.) can test this at no charge. Also use a voltmeter to test the alternator output. Most alternators put out between 13.5-13.8 volts at the battery. A faulty alternator can cause the engines electrical system to pull voltage from the battery until it (Battery)gets down to around 10 volts at which time the voltage is to low to support the needs of the system and the vehicle simply cuts off and will not restart as described in the first part of your post. Hope this helps.

Sounds like you have a current drain on the battery even when switch off. With the ignition off put a ammeter between the negative lead and the negative terminal of the battery and measure the current drain. If detected now remove and reinsert each fuse in turn noting the change in current flow. By this process you will isolate the offending circuit. Interior glove-box or trunk lights can be the very devil since like a fridge light you can never tell if they go off when they should.

It could possibly be the starter, but before you get that far make sure the Battery cables are connected very tight. If loose the car won't start or do anything. Also make sure the battery cable is grounded.

you have
A DRAW which Means that something is ON in the car that is Drawing the Battery Down . For that DO The Fallowing. Get a Test Light Disconnect the Negative terminal of Battery Clip on Neg CABLEwith clip end of test light PROBE THE BATTERY WITH The Probe end If the Light Comes ON you have a DRAW, go to Fuse box take out 1 Fuse at a time chucking if the light goes out When it does Go out Thats the CUIRCITthat is DRAWING down the Battery. Investigate andd correct problem---------------------------------------------- The Battery Has to Be Double CHECKED ALSO
I hope this helps you and you are Kind Enough to RATE me thank You RejakWilson

hi there the things to check are do you have a spark at the plugs?
do you have compression ?
are the cam shafts turning?
is the cam belt intact?
this are all needed to make the engine run it will turn over great but not start with this things not working infact if the last 3 are not there it will sound diffrent when you are turning it over with the key.
hope this helps Regards JR
