If it's a automatic check to see if your torque converter is out of balance that sometimes will occur in a automatic transmission

Could be a tranny problem developing but cheap checks include checking uni joints or cv joints for looseness. Check rear bush of tranny for sloppy slip joint fitting ( rear drive only) lift tail shaft up and down. any movement allows an out of line tail shaft to occue hence the shudder.Check the color of the tranny oil Should be a bright cherry red. Any other color ( brownish red - tan) indicates possible tranny fault

After replacing the heater core on an 02 Dodge 1500 4.7L quad cab 4x4, it developed a random shudder. It happens when doing about 60mph. Any idea what could be causing it to do this?

There is a possibility that when you put everything back together for the heater core project there is something loose and starting to vibrate. Do you feel the shutter in the steering or body of the truck? Does it quit when you start to slow down or sped up? Does it feel like it is engine related or transmission? No simple answer.

I have no check engine light on. When i drive and accelerate to 40 mph, its starts to jerk/shake in between 40mph-60mph then it smooths out and gets worse when the AC is on

engine lights mostly only report on major problems in engine and transmissions
run the fault codes to check for other sensor problems

Why won't my 1990 crown victoria, drive over 40mph. To go over 40mph I have to be in drive 2

change out both the speed sensors for the transmission...when one goes bad the next will soon follow. A call to a parts store or ford center can get you the location of where they are located.

04 ram 1500 2wd. trans shudder at cruising speeds under 55? Doesn't during acceleration. Change filter and fluid to no avail.

That sounds like a torque converter problem more than likely. It sounds like it's trying to lock up (supposed to do that above 60mph) at a low speed. It will feel like a harsh shift or a shudder when it's trying to engage. Just to make sure I'm correct, drive it and listen to all the gears. When at 55-60mph after it has gone into it's top gear it will normally drop about 200-300rpm when the torque converter locks up.

My 2005 nissan pathfinder does a shudder when hitting 60mph, but only when the overdrive is on...what causes this?

it sounds like u have transmission torque converter clutch shudder, I recommened you change the fluid and add 2 ounces of gear oil friction modifier, this works very well at curing this type of shudder issue.

I recently purchased 04 Dodge Neon SXT automatic transmission and now the check engine lite is on and the transmission will not shift past 40mph but will go to 60mph is the transmission toast

Its probably just a shift solonoid. Have the computer scanned for trouble codes at your local auto parts store and bring the codes back here so we can help you determine whats going on with it.

My 2007 buick rendezvous has a shudder starting at 40 mph and it smooths out at about 55-60 mph. this occurs with moderate acceleration. the tires and rims are fine had them checked out extensively. seems...

It's a step-by-step process. If it only happens on acceleration then it is a drivetrain problem. Start verifying from the outer cv joints and go in from there
