Thumping noise at 60-65 mph

This sounds like either a wheel bearing has gone bad or, if your car is front or all-wheel drive, you have a half-axle going. Either of these can leave you stranded when they fail completely, and they can be dangerous. Get this noise checked out by a competent mechanic now!

Could be a broken belt in one of the tires. or just cupping of the tires/ unusual wear

Is it more like a "thump thump thump" sound? If so, it's likely your wheel bearings.

try rotating the front tires to the rear and see if the problem feels differently, if so tires or rims or at fault.

Well, kind of short on description, issues typical in this complaint are misfiring and U joints.

To emininate the engine, does the vibration happen on power braking, without the vehicle moving?

well,if it doesnt change with the wheel turned a little it might be a rear wheel bearing or even a couple of loose lugs on a wheel,or even a brake pad worn down to the rivets,can u give a better description of the noise? (metallic,dull thumping,etc...)

Check CV joints.

Sounds like a belt slipping. Check the tension and wear on your belts.Seems like it's always the alternator belt, so check that first. If the belts are fine it may be your fan clutch.

Maybe check for loose u-joints, transmission mount, or carrier bearing if you have a two piece driveshaft.

if the noise isassociated with "wheel speed" then it is in the rolling parts... axle hub bearing brake rotor caliper wheel or tires...if it goes away on right turns then you are unloading or separating the issue then...so a hub /wheel bearing /axle issue is most likely...does your brake pedal pulse when you feel it..(riding the brake while driving)..does the steering wheel shimmy ?
