Alternator should be plugging out 13.5 to 14 volts. Who ever installed that alternator needs to check the connections or the alternator itself.

The issue was where a previous owner had tried to replace a portion of the wire from the alternator to the battery. They used what looked to be a power wire for a subwoofer hook-up. Replaced that portion with 4 gauge terminal wire from the auto parts store. Soldered it in place and retested. The system checks good no issues now

SOURCE: battery light on tested bat and alt both good light still on

The alternator can check good, but it may have a blown diode in the alternator, and causing the light to come on,the test may not catch the flaw,so think about it,it will get worse,if there is not a drain on the voltage system, there will be.

Possible that the alternator or the electronic charging unit has failed. You need to start and check the battery voltage with the car running and reving.

Why wont new alternator charge battery in 2004 f-250

The generator bat terminal should be hot all the time, is it? Use a test light to check. Did you check trouble codes for your charging system, there are codes listed for charging system, in database. Is this a rebuilt generator or brand new? It seems some rebuilders have trouble getting ford generator rebuilds, correct, according to my info.

New battery not charging after changing the alternator

First make sure both battery cables are free of corrosion and ground is secured to chassis and engine then check to see if theres an alt. fuse or bat. fuse blown. Another way to test charging sys w\out an meter is to remove the ground terminal from the bat. with the car running, if the alt. is good car stays running, if all else fails take the alt and bat to a parts store that will test them for free

My 2000 chrysler concorde alternator isn't

The computer controls alternator output. If the alternator passes a bench test but is not charging at idle speed on the car, it could be the computer or a bad connection in the harness.

Battery light on tested bat and alt both good light still on

If the light is on and the alternator is good then you either have a short to ground in the wire that runs the charge light or there is a diode in the alternator that is bad.The alternator will test good with a bad diode if it is only tested for the voltage it reaches but if you were to check the amperage output it would be down from it's output rating.

How do I locate and change the battery on a 2000 Chrysler Concord

Drive down to your nearest parts store. Buy a battery and ask the attendant to help you replace it. It's that simple. I would suggest watching so that next time you can do it yourself, hope this helps and good luck!

Put a new alternator in 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee engine light on

well , the ECU runs the alternator. (DG wire "dark green")
the alternator field is controlled 100% by PCM reg , inside PCM.
so..... if the running engine has 13.3, to 15vdc the alt is working
if lower, its not. (rpm on engine 800 or more)

not scanning the PCM a the CEL glow, you missed the boat.
why not scan it. see why the PCM is upset (DTC errors stored)

see the 2 lower pins below , those go to PCM.
in theory if the field in the old BAD ALT, was shorted.
that could in fact, burn up the PCM regulator.
shorting outputs of PCM , does that in most cases.
im the poor sod that fixes PCM's.so....
