2002 Hyundai Elantra GLS, headlights burn out constantly

The headlights are constantly burning out and having to be changed. Any ideas on what might be the problem?

Same problem.  I just get them on Ebay and buy multiples and save on shipping.  I keep one handy in the glove box.  I've tried wearing nitrile gloves etc., at this point I KNOW it is not that I get the oil from my hands on the bulbs.  This car just burns through bulbs - only the H7 low beams.  I bought the car new and have replaced 8 low beams and no other bulb in the entire car.  And I keep my low beams off except when I need them (I do not use them as day time running lights).

I'm on my 6th bulb, usually about 1 every 6 to 8 months. I would believe the theory of getting grease on the bulb if the bulb burned out right after it was changed out, but thats never happened.

I've dealt with the same issue. I've replaced both lowbeams twice in the last 18 months, and they haven't been a result from touching the bulbs. I wonder if there's an electrical issue?

Folks, I had this problem for years...it turned out that the voltage control module on the alterntor wasn't working correctly. It eventually led to a major problem with consistant operation of the vehicle. the dealer couldn't figure it out...it took a seasnoned mechanic to solve the problem. I haven't had a problem since I got the alternator replaced. Wear your gloves when you change them, yes, but don't discount your alternator.

If the bulbs are burning out, it's usually because whoever replaces them, touches the glass part of the bulbs. The oil from your fingers make them burn out very quickly. I sincerely hope that I helped you. Best wishes.

Headlight

I had the same issue with the cheaper bulbs. Sylvania sent me some higher end bulbs and have had no issue for years. (I hope that saying that will not bring on a burn-out;)

2002 hyundai elantra gls windshild washer is not

Check the fuse box if not under the dash on the drivers side kick panel, then under the hood, look in the owners man for the location. With the key on, hold the washer switch on and have someone check for power to the pump motor located in the bottom of the washer fluid bottle if the fuse is good but not getting power to the pump then the wiper/washer switch is your most likely culprit..

Constantly replacing headlights

Do not tear thru anything please just go to the dealership and replace the headlights! The Hyundai's headlights burn so hot that any aftermarket headlights will burn out quite quickly! I have purchased many different headlight bulbs for my Hyundai including the ultrabright lights and those just burned. Went to the dealer and purchased two headlights from them for $21.00 and they installed them!!!! Have not had a problem since! (that was over a year ago)
