S80 electrical issues

Gas gage does not work...... remote will not operate the trunk opener..... remote will open front doors but not the back doors...... trunk light will not work....seem everything in the rear part of the car.................. any ideas.

yes, exactly that - trunk won't open, fuel flap locked, both rear doors
locked, fuel guage doesn't work. Garage suggest it is the rear electronic module, but could be
also a door problem - warning light shows rear door open when it is not
    open

Sounds like the rear electronic module is malfunctioning. How do you get the trunk open to find out the light is not working? The REM controls all of the functions you describe in your post. If you can get the trunk open then to this:

Disconnect the positive and negative cables from the battery and touch them together for at least 5 minutes. Don't worry, you will not be doing any damage to the car or yourself. Place the cables back onto the battery and then lock and unlock the car. See what happens. If it works then your rear electronic module (REM) needs a software upgrade at your Volvo dealer, about $120 USD.

Hope this helps.

In trunk on left side there should be a manual pull cable to operate the door if the electrical solenoid fails to operate when pushing the fuel door button on the left side of the dash near the trunk lid button.

Fuel door and trunk issues? How about no fog lights and your radio randomly turning off. If you have any of these issues it is the k134 multifunction relay. It controls all of the above.

Emergency fuel door release for 2000 Volvo S80

Copied from Volvo Forums

I had a similar problem w recently bought 2003 S80.Several points: 1) Access your locking selonoid through the trunk interior panel ... loosen a few hex bolts and slide out for maintenance; 2) I fixed my lock by simply using light teflon-based oil (like for bike chains). I exercised it a few times and it works beautifully; 3) Not sure on your model, but gas door on the '03 unlocks when you push the associated release button under the headlight control switch. It is not designed to unlock w the key (again, check owners manual for your year). Hope this helps. master_pre08-04-2007, 09:35 AMYeah, the fuel door on my 2000 S80 is connected with the door locks. In order for it to open you have to unlock all the doors to the car. Sssnake08-14-2007, 03:39 PM Thanks Guys,

I removed the locking mechanism and applied a little silicon graphite and now it works like a charm.

Fuel door does not open

I can't promise that this will apply to your car, but in my Audi, there is a manual release cable in the trunk, and your car may have one too. Go into the trunk, pull back the trunk lining on the side where the gas filler door is and look for a pull cord. Often the European cars have this feature since their gas doors are unlatched electronically, and this serves as a backup in case the electronic release fails. Take a look and see if you have this feature - I'd almost be surprised if you don't.

VW Jetta 2003 1.9 TDI trunk does not want to open with remote My Jetta trunk recently started to give me problems without warning. I cannot get the trunk open with the remote. The trunk only opens manually...

It is your wiring coming out of the trunk on the left side. One of the wire are cut because in cold weather when you open the trunk, wire can't move easily in the plastic tube. Sorry for my english.

2001 Volvo S80 New control computer is messing up

I had a problem with my ambient air temperature sensor and the passenger side door lock. I was told that I needed a control module and that my battery was bad. When I replaced the battery, the module reset and everything started working again. Try disconnecting the positive cable from your battery and or having it checked at a local auto parts store.
