Location of starter in 2005 jeep liberty - 2005 Jeep Liberty

  • Anonymous Apr 22, 2009

Wife's car just started to not start this morning. Full power, lots of rapid clicking. Rattled starter, no use. Time for a new one? No warning on soft starts up until now.

  • YankVolley May 01, 2009

When the vehicle first wouldn't start, having been starting/stopping the engine in stop-and-go traffic, the lights and dashboard burned and it emitted a rapid clicking. Now, resting until daylight, nothing. A friend said "Tap the starter solenoid. But I can't find the starter. I have multiple "leads" from my Jeep's battery. How am I to know which is the "main hot lead"? I CAN say that one "lead" connects to the alternator (visible). Another drops under the power steering pump into an area not visible from above nor below. Another "lead" connects to the fuse box.

Location depends on engine type however it's easy to find by following the main hot lead from the battery down to it! Should be on left or right side front of bellhousing under vehicle!

SOURCE: airbag light stays on 2005 jeep liberty

It probably will cost a few bucks to get the code reset, but you don't need to go to the dealership, most shops with a good scanner equipped for air bag code reading will be able to diagnose and reset the light. The most probable reason for the code is the battery being dead for a while, there is a capacitor in the airbag circuit to make sure the airbag can go off in a collision even if the battery disconnects itself in the process. There is a slim chance it might be something else but either way the shop should be able to tell you what the problem is, and get it fixed... But, just for fun, before doing all this, i'd disconnect the battery for 30 minutes to an hour and reconnect it back, some systems do effectively reset themselves this way.

SOURCE: how to replace rear brake pads on 2005 jeep liberty

put the back of car on jack stands and secure the front tires so it does not roll and then remove the bolts off the back of the caliper there is normally two one at top and one at bottom and spray it with some kind of oil for rust and make sure you have the right size socket before you try to loosen them and once caliper is off and the old pads removed take one of the old pads and squeeze the piston on the caliper back in by using a "C" clamp and also remove some of the brake fluid from the master cylinder before you do this put the new ones back on and check the brake fluid and make sure it is full and then pump the brakes to make sure you have a good pedal also put some "No Squeak" brake stop on the back of the pads so they don't squeak they will have that where you buy the pads from

SOURCE: location of thermostat and gasket

Follow the radiator hoses to the block (upper hose first). At the end of one of these hose you will see a housing. The thermostat is in that housing.

2005 Jeep Liberty will not start no click no noise rather new battery. starts with jump but will not turn off even removed the key. replaced the power relay. still no start. newer battery.

Did you check the starter motor relay , location , under hood power distribution center ? When you turn the key to start the ignition switch sends a 12 volt input to the PCM / ECM - engine computer . The engine computer will then energize the starter motor relay . This is all computer controlled . Hooking up a scan tool to check for DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes an viewing input data should be the first in diagnosing a problem like this .

2005 jeep liberty won't crank

Hi ! since you had a hard crank start, you should check first of all whether you had dry battery, the second options was -if battery okay- the ignition switch, third option is not good contact on earthing, fourth option the starter motor itself. What about dirty battery terminals?

My 2005 jeep liberty will not start. Starter is good. What could be the probable cause?

Check the battery for bad connections..take off the cables and clean both the battery posts and the cable connectors and then try...if no start, then see if you can check the battery voltage with a voltmeter...at stand still(engine not running) the battery should read 12.5 volts...if battery is ok, then there is the possibility that the starter solenoid, the starter relay, or (in rare cases) the ignition switch is bad

Tried to start jeep liberty 2005 went and opened

Aside from the part about the remote, I would first check to make sure the battery has a solid 12volts in it and that the terminal connections are clean. After this, then check to see if operation has been restored. Jumping across a battery with bad connection often prevents the vehicle from starting. Also try closing the doors and then locking and unlocking drivers door with the key itself. This should re-set the security system

Cylinder location

Standing in front of your jeep and facing the engine. The number 1 cylinder is the one closest to you on your right (the drivers side of your jeep). The middle cylinder on the drivers side is the number 3 cylinder.

Driver Side Front to back is 1-3-5
Passenger side Front to Back is 2-4-6
