I am driving my Aunt to/from Dr. appts due to illness. Every time I set the security/anti-theft system stays on for about 10 seconds. After that period, it will then flash every 10 seconds. Should this light continue to flash for extended periods? Unfortunately, she lost her owners manual, and I will need to figure out how to order one.

I just had this to happen to me - here's what you do - when it will not crank - turn your key over to ACC and let it stay on here for 15 minutes, the THEFT SYSTEM light will stop flashing. Turn your key back to OFF then turn it over as normal when starting and it will start right back up! Found it out from an auto store! One lady paid over $700 and then found this out!!!

I have this same issue except my car will not start. You will have to turn the key to the on position for 10 mins until the theft system light turns off. Once the theft system light stops flashing then attempt to start the car. I am trying to find a solution to fixing the problem I am having with the theft system. My car will only start about 3/4 of the time without the theft system turning on
i have an 05 malibu classic and it only cranks when it wants to if the anti theft light is on it will not crank i have taken my negative battery cable off to try to reset the computer and that works sometimes, there has been two times that after 15 it will not crank i just let it sit and 2-3 hours go back and it will crank right up no waiting. twice i have had the anti theft light come on while driving down the road and if i dont pull over and kill the car it will go dead in the middle of the highway
when i open any door except my drivers side door the 4 way lights will come on what does this mean and how can i fix it?
