Replaceing a broken antenna mast on a 2005 Ford focus
I broke the antenna mast off of my 2005 Ford Focus I have bought the replacement parts but I need to know how to get the mount off to replace it as the stud that holds the mast broke off. I have the new base part.

Same problem. Ford said that they have to take off fender and splash guard to get to the parts. Its going to be $115.00 for half an hour and the $60.00 for the parts. What a rip off. I am pretty sure if you remove the inside dome light cover and take out the light there is a bolt and nut under there for the base that you can unscrew. By the way where did you buy the parts from, Ford is telling me $70 for the antenna whip?

You could try searching for a used antenna on www.car-part.com.
Removing the antenna mast is easy once the collar nut is removed. Try tapping a screwdriver in one of the two slots with a hammer counter-clockwise, gently, until it loosens. Be careful not to chisel your painted fender. Once the nut is off, you can manually pull it out or power it out with the antenna switch with a helper holding the antenna mast so it doesn't flop onto your fender.
To install it,have a helper hold the 'down' button and feed the white nylon end into the hole. If it doesn't catch, rotate the nylon part clockwise in the hole and hold downward pressure on it until the motor gear catches the nylon piece. After the entire antenna has retracted into the fender, replace the nut.
How do I install a new antenna on my GMC 05 2500 Sierra. I have to replace the base because it broke off. I've taken the dash off. But cannot seem to fish wire through the firewall.
begin by changing the fuse. look in your manual for the location of the fuse and be sure to replace it with a new one exactly like the old one, available at any auto parts store.
Should be a dome light in the interior that lines up with antennae on roof if it's same as I remember. Remove interior light and there should be screws in there holding base of antennae to roof. If it's just a broke off mast, try to unscrew stud from base & replace.
There is a mast available, part number is lnc4134aa or lna4134aa, sorry but I am on holiday and dont recall the correct number.
You may have to remove the antenna and take it apart to retrieve the broken piece of mast, all basic stuff, really eaasy to do.
You can buy the mast aftermarket and on ebay for $25-$35, of pay the dealer $60+ for the same unit.
