Try turning the key to the run position without starting the car. See if it wil now give up the park position into neutral. If so, start the car, put it in drive and go. I have experienced this same problem with Ford Crown Vic sedans.

when you park the vehicle for the night slide a sheet of cardboard underneath. next day open the hood and sight down from a vertical position with the spot and inspect all components on that line of sight. it's not hot so it is alright to use your hands also.
The switch on the brake master cylinder is FAMOUS for shorting out. Unplug it and find the blown fuse. In the fuse box under the hood, fuse 1.5 Your truck may be under a recall for that switch, call the dealer with your VIN number and see if it qualifies.
You may need a new automatic clutch or new transmission. This occurs often in Fords, mostly because people get lazy when shift gears and do not fully disengage gears, but rather pull up and down. See your mechanic.
